Thom293
I just posted a new mod as a beta. "Better Settlers" There is one known issue that I am aware of that I cannot pinpoint and its the last thing (that I know of) keeping it in beta state. I would appreciate help with what I should look for: Mod gives settlers many new outfits. Occasionally a settler will show up naked. He has clothes in his inventory, but he wont wear them. Does anyone have a suggestion on what kind of conflict I should be looking for? I cant find it for the life of me.
Thom293
Someone else just said the same thing, but I was actually just thinking it reminds me of the guy from Morrowwind. The naked barbarian in the wilderness. Wine-Sot. Might leave it as is and call it a "feature." :)
Blaust
Unrelated to the mod, but related to the bug maybe:I saw a caravan guard(not a provisioner, but a guard to the Doc or someone), wearing external armor pieces, but no under clothes. I traded with him and he had clothes in his inventory, he just wasn't wearing it. So the bug might not be solely from your mod, but it might amplify the problem? Also a sidenote: I really wish settlers had names(either job related or random names). I had a couple ideas on how to do this, and tried earlier to look around FO4Edit, but couldn't find anything to support it. :( Edited December 6, 2015 by Blaust
Thom293
Yeah my original plan was to name the separate classes, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. May have to wait for the GECK for that.
Khormin
It'll be easier to rename them once F4SE is in good running; can autoscript a rename function that way.As for the outfits, are you trying to equip "full body armor" outfits, or just underclothes? Thom293
It'll be easier to rename them once F4SE is in good running; can autoscript a rename function that way. As for the outfits, are you trying to equip "full body armor" outfits, or just underclothes? There are 4 leveled sublists. One that is stock with the game and has the full body stuff (Spike, Drifter, Cage) and the normal settler clothes plus a few other regular clothes I added. I think this is the list that occasionally generates the naked guy. As someone said earlier - I think it might be a vanilla problem because I have seen naked guys too. The other 3 include underwear and regular armor. I havent seen one of those fail yet.
MacManChomp
I'd say that a mod like this on its way to become a hot ticket item. if only we could add scripts in cuz I'd like to see settlers renamed to the job they're doing. As in farmer guard merchant scavenger and any other jobs I'm forgetting.
Khormin
As someone said earlier - I think it might be a vanilla problem because I have seen naked guys too. Yeah, if it's the full body outfit it is. Reported the bug to Bethesda, expecting their usual level of support for it. The issue there lies in the checking value for armor priority so that NPCs can, in theory, equip themselves with better items if they have them. Unfortunately, even if they don't, it can glitch out. While a script can patch that in later development (I anticipate), I've had some partial success by modifying the base values of those mods to count them in turn as 'underwear' a la Armorsmith and More Armor Slots.
