Where can you find the old launcher? Ive been using NMM all the time

pathtosteam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4Launcher.exe

Next folder up from the game's data folder, where you install things like ReShade/ENB/SweetFX/Shadowboost etc

Says its been update today :/

this completely works for me, thanks a bunch.

Hi everyone, would just like to say big thanks for your quick postings on here to get the great game back up and running for us people who like to use a mod or two.

Unfortunately, I am still having a major issue though. After the game updated, and I found out about everything that had gone wrong, I decided to use the fallout 4 script extender as a workaround. The few mods I had installed all started working ok, until I exited out of my power armour and tried to access my pip boy to fast travel someplace, only to find the pip boy no longer comes up. all I get is the text at the bottom of the screen asking whether you want the local map or world map, but no pipboy. Funny thing is, I get back in the power armour and I can access it in that,

I only had the mods 4k enhanced blood, black and red grognak, black maxons battlecoat, enhanced wasteland preset, dark assassin faded trench coat, legendary modification, caits Harley quin retexture & blood angels death company battle armour installed.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all those mods, used script extender and steam to log into the game, I have even reinstalled the game tonight in case some pipboy texture file was missing or something, but nothing ive done has fixed the problem.

I can only assume this is another side effect of the update today, and the fact they left the beta launcher in the install.

Today has been a complete nightmare, Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

This problem is not actually linked to any mods directly (although maybe one of your mods might be making it worse). I actually had this problem before I installed my first mod. I would be wondering around the Commonwealth and suddenly my gun would disapear or I would finnish crafting stuff at a settlement and try to bring up my Pipboy to fast travel and it would not be there. Whatever the reason the game just seems to stop loading the textures. I have found two fixes that worked:

1) Just do a quicksave and reload.

2) Equip a gun with a scope and then "aim". The scope is important, guns with just sights still try to use the gun texture during the aim and won't try to reload the texture after you lower the gun.

Either solution has fixed both the invisible gun and Pipboy problems for me everytime I have encountered them.

There is a very Easy Way, to play the GAme with Patch and Mods.

- Start Nexus Mod Manager

- Start the Fallout 4 Launcher

- Launcher now deactivate all mods

- Deactivate and Activated your Mods in the Nexus Mod Manager again

- Open on your System Drive the Folder: USER/ USERNAME / APPDATA / Local / Fallout 4

Now set the following files to READ ONLY:

loadorder.txt

plugins.txt

After that the Launcher can not deactivate your mods again

SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH

All of my mods are still working fine. Should I worry about adding more? I already had all of my files set to "Read Only", as I thought the game may try to change them. Did I preemptively keep myself from having to deal with the headache of trying to retroactively fix things?

Anyway here is a temporary fix, go to http://f4se.silverlock.org/ and download the Fallout 4 beta 1.2.37 file

Copy all files into ur FO4 (steam-steam app-common-Fallout 4) now open NMM and go to Settings-Fallout 4 under Custom Launcher thers a field called Command, type in f4se_loader and save. Now enable all ESP´ S as the update disables them, go to Top left Corner on the NMM and change the Launch Fallout 4 to Launch Custom Launcher, should work.

Long explenation for newcommers.

This! This is better than the original suggestion of starting the game, opening mod manager and enabling the ESPs every time!

You can simply start the game from NMM custom launch or place a shortcut to the F4 SE executable on your desktop. Thanks Dimos!

But using this method, can you still use the functionalities of steam? Such as achievements and the guides section from the Steam overlay?

This is the best solution people, no need to download anything and works a treat!

Update did not disable my mods in nmm. It deleated my esp's in the widows c/users/my name/App Data/local/fallout 4/plugins.txt. Just retyped the named esp's back in, set the plugins text to read only, and launched via fallout 4 script extender. Maybe overkill, but I now have all my mods working again.
