ninja_lord666
I'm sure this doesn't affect many of you here because this only pertains to the Midwest (US), and those of us who do live in the Midwest, probably won't go outside much anyways. It seems that this year will see the emergence of Brood XIII (here). Meaning, billions of nasty, noisy cicadas will swarm northern Illinois, and in parts of Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana. So, don't go outside unless in dire situations :excl:
Vagrant0
Why yes, cover your ears, beware the soothing sounds of the deadly cicada. Why they'll fly down and bore through your flesh to act as a host for their young... Seriously though, stop watching the news, they overplay this stuff way too much to play off the fears of the uninformed.

poopgoblin
Yeah, I live in N. Indiana, and I've heard something similair, every year, for, oh, I don't know... let's just call it tradition. Each year, I probably see one or twt dead cicadas, and thats it. As Vagrant0 said, It's overplayed.
BigT17
the news is alway overplaying everything. there might be some cicadas, but i am not worried as i know they are wrong about the number of them that are supposed to be coming.
poopgoblin
I bet that now after we've claimed that it won't happen, the Midwest will be swarmed by Satanic carnivorous cicadas who will kill all who are outside at that moment, including me. (THE one time I decide to ride my bike! >:( )

(THE one time I decide to ride my bike! >:( )You *do* know that cicadas are harmless to humans right? They just are annoying as they make a lot of noise (up to 90 decibels  ), and, since their vision isn't very good, they fly into things...like humans.
