Alternitive Start Mod

I would like to play this survival game minus the feeling the responsibility to finding my son or leading a guild or group. Skyrim has this mod so why not fallout 4? I just like to appear in the game and survive.

 

If this is possible, this game seem to put a lot on your shoulders then skyrim I know it may be more work then skyrim.

Named protagonist and the fact the entire story revolves around your son f*#@s that up big-time.

 

Essentially, no matter what the alternative start you pick, you always have to have had a son and been on a Vault, otherwise meeting Shaun makes no sense.

 

 

A mod that just drops you in the Wasteland and disables the main quest is a possibility, but I can't imagine why one would want to do that, this game's very empty compared to every other Fallout or Elder Scrolls' game.

yeah I was afraid of that. Unless some how a NPC takes the leading role and as the day goes by you can hear the things he does on the radio. But my best guess is have all main quest finish with 4 different outcomes and start from there. But still a lot would be miss, this game missions are not as massive as skyrim's.

I'd just like to be able to not have to play as an adult :K I really like the idea of being a teenager and getting to go off and survive and save your baby brother instead of infant son. A mod like that would require removing the mention of Saun as 'son' and just have NPC's refer to him by name alone, but that could make for a really cool alternate option instead of being mom or dad?

 

The main plot line is super ingrained in basically every substantial NPC in the game, so to remove it I think would require a modding effort on the scale of Wyrmstooth or Falskaar for Skyrim, and those mod's are still being updated yearrsss after their initial release. I don't doubt someone would come out with a large scale mod like that, but it definitely wouldn't be for a good long while.

 

It's not quite what you had in mind, but I'd like the option to play as another child in the main family. So instead of mom or dad going to find their son it's a sibling tracking down their baby brother. I play as a teenager in Skyrim and would really like to do so in Fallout 4 :K The beginning could be altered to show both 'Nate' and 'Nora' being murdered or maintaining just the one parent but showing the other died trapped in the pod like the rest of the people in Sanctuary. But I always thought that would be a pretty neat alternate start and I am 9000% sure that once the creation kit comes out there will be plenty of teenager mod's to go around anyway. Which is..kind of unsettling now that I think about it.

There are 100s of things you could do for an alternate start mod and totally get rid of the baby and the vault and everything else. It just takes a small degree of imagination and a large amount of work.

 

Certain parts of the dialogue would need to be cut and replaced, but that isn't an overall hard thing to do, just time consuming. I think one of the keys would be to work with others making quest mods to incorporate this new content into your alternate start story, to fill in the fact that you cut out a bunch of content. But with enough creative problem solving and collaboration you could have a brand new story.

 

Maybe if I still feel like making mods after I am finished with my project I will make something like this. I'm just putting all my time into a totally different project right now.

 

 

 

 

Though I will say, I am a big fan of the story of Fallout 4 as it is, but two games are better than one.

I think, it's an awesome idea *_* Best alt start possible, probably, because it does not break any game features, but gives real freedom.
