Magicka Problem

I think being a mage is far cooler than a fighter, becuz u got many options on how to fight your opponent. A figther just has to swing, and lets face it; Morrowind close combat does'nt leave much to strategy...

BUT! (not butt), I hate when i need to safe my few (and homemade) Restore magicka potions for when i need them in the heat of combat and therefore have to regenerate by sleeping all the time.. And if you wish to fight mostly by magics you use up your magicka fairly quickly!

The Only place where i can get more than 1 restore magicka is from the mages guild equipment chest. They are only standard (not much when you have 200 in magicka) but 3-4 of those and you are up and running. They even work in most combat situations. But the chests doesnt seem to restock! Can this be true? are'nt there any way to make them become full again? (i liked walking around with 30 potions of restore magicka) Or is there a place that sells them in larger numbers?

I know i can make them myself (i already did) but 1 ingredient is easy (comberry) but the other is always expensive and rather rare11 :help:

Well, the chest respawns after 30 days. You can get Exclusive Restore Magicka potions from the Fine Alchemy shop in Balmora (Nalcarya of White Haven's shop). They're infinite, buy one, open the barter window again and buy another, etc. Also you can get more potions from the storage chest in every guild. Not just one.

As far as I thought these chests respawn only after you emptied it completely, although I can be wrong here. I usually take all the things from the chest and sell almost everything, after some time, long, long time  , definitely more than 30 days, it respawns.

Even though I am playing as a fighter and don't rely on magicka, I can suggest you to hunt some daedra minions - daedra hearts and different salts are common loot near daedra shrines :P That's all you need for the restore magicka potion. :innocent:

Another way - summon any creature with magical atack and absorb the spells. Ancestor ghosts work the best :D Easy to summon, easy to kill :P

Thats probably your best bet. You need to get that alchemy skill up and start brewing your own potions. I've gotten so bored with my thief that I taught him a bunch of magic and trained his alchemy up as high as I could... Now I'm looking for things to blast... mwhahaha

Okay thanks... I dont wanna be waiting around 30 days to get the 10 potions in each chest...

And yeah i know that you can make your own potions (which if you have just a little knowledge in alchemy will be better than the exclusive, that you can buy!) But even though you get some daedra leftovers to make it with it is hard to get enough for a good bunch of potions... <_<

But Thanks for the tip about the alchemy in Balmora, That was exactly what i were looking for... But would you consider that cheating? i mean, is it on purpose that it is so difficult to obtain these damn potions?

Use Alchemy Yes.... but why waste all that talent on mere restore potions.

My personal favourite is to use Alchemy to boost the Intellegence stat. Approximately 7000 Int will give you 30000 Spell Points give or take depending on your Magicka Bonuses. An awful lot of Fire Bites :) The best bit of course is that the ingredients for Fortify Int are cheaper to buy than for Restore Magika.

Alchemy: Use 2 of conberry, daedra hearts (common at shrines etc) and viod salts (winged twiglights) to make restore magicka potions.

Chests do respawn, but they take ages to do so (not sure exactly) so don't rely on them. With a mage type tend to take alchemy as a major or minor just to get the ability to make magika potions. Don't forget that the fine achemists may also have some of the ingredeints for sale (the one in Balmora has) they will be pricey and in low qaunities, but should have some of the harder to find/obtain componenets.
