i was only kidding about the people in the shower ;D

but i'm deciding not to get it anyway, i was talking to some one who once had it and they said its a huge memery log and you cant even see australia properly because not many images have been taken :(

I would guess this has changed since then, Spent a good 30 mins cruising over Australia, zooming in on some points. Only a few places was the resolution particularly bad (mostly in the older "green" areas, only found one small block of land without any image, and managed to come across the site of Survivor 2 ( 18°14'11.07"S 145°22'14.71"E). I would imagine that even for an endless tract of desert there is interest in having clear images of Australia simply because of all the impact sites which are still visible. Like with anywhere, alot of it depends on where you're looking. If there isn't anything there that anyone is particularly interested in, it probably won't be given priority. But even areas that are of interest like the Nasca Lines ( 14°42'40.52"S 75° 8'16.68"W) which are "supposed" to be visible from space, aren't particularly clear.

Additionally, there aren't clear images of either the south or north pole as there isn't anything which moves directly over them. There is however a neat little effect where hundreds of images are stretched and pieced together.

But if you're going to fret over there not being many clear images of one place, it's probably best to avoid Greenland and Antarctica.

Even Disney World is a bit blurry when you get really close.( 28°21'33.57"N 81°33'18.46"W)

Similarly it's only a memory hog (it isn't for my PC, but might be for yours, I guess) when you actually have the program running. Not exactly life threatening.
