Serious Download speed issues

HVD

Recommended Posts

Hi again,

I've just tested the server from multiple locations around the UK and each location gives download speeds between 150kb - 500kb/sec. Can confirm the server isn't burdened at all.

I know it sounds silly, but you are actually logged in with your Supporter account (HVD) and downloading large files, correct? You'll know you're downloading from the Supporter server since it's location will show as http://supporter.gamingsource.net/...

The URL I'm currently downloading from is:

http://supporter.gamingsource.net/supporte...e=tessource.net

You said 150kb-500kb - is that kilobits or kilobytes? When i say 10kB I mean kilobytes.

My traceroute is practically the same, minus a few more hops at the start. I similarly have a timeout on one of the hops but am still downloading at 200kb/sec (that's kilobytes), so it's not that.

You're downloading from the right URL, that's for sure.

I've uploaded a test file that doesnt use the dl system; it can be found here. Give it a go and see what happens. If that doesn't go at normal speed then I have no clue what the problem is.

That file was the same. Is it ok if i try to multi-segment it and see what happens?

So there's something up with your linkup to the server or vice-versa. If you use an accelerator on it it'll more than likely just download at your 10kb/sec speed per thread. You still wont be able to use it on the normal file downloads though.

Are you logging into the forums with your username or email?

Both, it always tells me i have an incorrect password. Im trying to reset it.

Btw thanks, the downstream is finally normal again with around 250 kbs

Btw Dark0ne, im getting recently alot of non-working links. It seems like the donation server is alot down, i always have to wait around 2 minutes or 10 till i can download my desired files. In the meanwhile i already have downloaded it from the regular server.

My downloads are a lot faster right now, 2 or 3 times what they were before. I'm close to maxing out my downstream. Have you done something?

Nope, nothing. Glad it's better now atleast.

It has a very low % down-time and always works instantly for me. No idea why it is so slow for you.
