My Ideal DLC - Clean Slate

That's a DLC I would actually pay for on the day it debuts, rather than waiting for it to, inevitably, be discounted to $1.49 and a cheese doodle at some future steam sale. Unfortunately, I don't think it has a chance of coming from Bethesda. Some enterprising modder will have to make it as well as it can be made with the tools provided. Still, let's remain hopeful. Hey, it could happen. lol. And Bethesda could release a Creation Kit that doesn't crash.

That impossible, all softwares crashes. Save and backup your esp often and it hardly a problem.

If anything, I'd like there to be a DLC akin to Citadel for Mass Effect 3. Lots of companion + romance interaction with many amusing moments. Its quite a bit to hope for from Bethesda, considering what they put out for Skyrim. However, they did add a new zone with Dragonborn so I think whatever they do it would most likely be something similar to that with a new zone to visit and possibly a new settlement.

An area outside the Commonwealth would also conveniently put aside the sticky issue of addressing the nebulous factions choices of the Sole Survivor. It's almost a certainty. =^[.]^=

It won't matter much, since you'll still have to basically be a boy scout to advance the story at all, since there are few "renegade" triggers for a lot of quests and virtually no unique renegade quests.

I think the dream of playing a real rpg here is just impossible, and no mod can fix that. I recommend replaying FONV instead.

However, if you absolutely insist on trying, maybe create a mod where you begin as a resident of Diamond City who meets the official main character and takes on the case of finding the son a la Valentine. Maybe an intern or something. At least you'll preserve most of the content while getting out from underneath the overwhelming baggage of that crap beginning.
