Perraine
The game uses multiple different bodies and textures for different ages and for regular NPC's vs Raiders and some settlers (there is a "dirty" version of the texture) So, if you use Bodyslide and replace EVERY outfit in game with your newly designed body, everything should be OK, if not, then you'll have to manually check whether the texture/body replacer you are using only does normal NPC's (i.e clean skin, middle aged) or whether it replaces ALL skin variations. And make sue they either replace, or are compatible with, ALL texture files (body, hands, face, plus the three files for each = Diffuse, Normal and Specular That is what is causing all these texture errors. a mismatch in what is replaced and what is vanilla. AFAIK there aren't any body/texture replacers that use anything other than the default CBBE UV map or the "Vanilla" UV map, so check the mod page and see which one your mods use. BTW do NOT use NMM to install textures and bodies, it doesn't work 95% of the time. Install them manually or use the batch build function in Bodyslide and replace EVERYTHING. JimmyRJump
@Drunkcoffee When using Unique Player and adding new body textures, you'll get a patchwork of different bodies when not creating a new body in BodySlide first.
THEAthalius
I am brand new to modding, and ran into this problem. I've read multiple threads on this issue and all seem to offer differing approaches to resolution. I went so far as to uninstall all body mods, including CBBE, got back to the vanilla texture. Then I reinstalled ONLY CBBE and immediately got the patchwork again. I did a batch build on all outfits as well. I do believe the problem may have occurred when installed Unique Player. I cannot figure out how to get around this. I would greatly appreciate any detailed instruction anyone would be so kind to give.
Perraine
Well I've never used or looked into the 'Unique Player" mod, but my guess would be that it either uses a separate mesh for the player character only, with a different material file specified for the player, or it uses a material swap .esp for the player. In either case the .bgsm material file will most likely be pointing to a different set of textures than the ones in the default location, so to avoid a mismatch in the textures, you;ll need to see where exactly "Unique Player" has put them. It's pretty simple really - Body mesh file has an associated material file i.e "materials\actors\character\basehumanfemale\basehumanfemaleskin.bgsm"Material file lists a set of textures in a specific path i.e "actors\character\basehumanfemale\" So obviously either the .nif mesh file or the .bgsm material file has to be altered, or a new separate file made, for the player to use a different texture than everyone else. Now, CBBE and by extension Bodyslide, ONLY use the default file structure and paths to replace bodies and textures, so any mod that affects, changes or doesn't use that default structure (such as Unique Player) will of course NOT be affected by CBBE and/or Bodyslide, and so you will get the texture mismatch issue. THEAthalius
So even though I completely uninstalled the Unique Player mod, it would have made a permanent change in where the game is told to look for the default textures? I ask because I looked in the default textures folder and found nothing there. Additionally, if the .bgsm file was changed by a mod I had installed, how could I go about changing it back so there are no longer any texture clashes?I apologize if I am being obvious, this is all new to me. DontBlnkBadWolf
I have jacked up female textures. I also read on Unique Player is NOT compatible with CBBE, so you need to choose which one you want to have and get rid of the other. I'm still working on my problem and I'll get it done eventually, I just wanted to post about Unique & CBBE

apalamen
I had same issues, just fixed it by 1) uninstalling Valkyr mod from NMM, manually select the file for faces only if your using CBBE. Saved me hours and hours of reinstalling everything and all mods again to try and fix it. For now on, I'm installing all meshes / textures manually. And backup the Data/Meshes folder if you can. That helped me track down what was causing the issue for me. Hope it helps. Oh and if it doesn't help, just keep deactivating and uninstalling all character mesh / texture mods 1-by-1 and reboot the game. You don't have to do much else if you use NMM.
