If they were, you'd be able to use the Skyrim CK with FO4 ;] Anyway, all the mechanics for mounts 'n all are not present in FO4. So it would be possible to add mounts, but you'd most likely need to scratch build everything. Not sure it's possible yet though, might need to wait for the CK. Technically, it is possible to import a lot from Skyrim, being it is similar engine. But you are talking about adding about 25% into the game's features. Game mechanic wise, FO4 has a decent walk/run FPS/TPS model. An open world model map mixed with instance model (indoor when you have to use load screen to get into is instances, a much smaller sandbox than the open map, not sharing resources). On top, it has the flying model for Vertibird,so technically we may be able to fly one of these in the near future. I didn't finish the game so ... do we ever get to fly them? I don't know. And this Sims like house building mechanic (but Bethesda has far less experience in making a house building sim than The Sims, albeit their game engine is FAR FAR more efficient than The Sims). So that is all there is to this game. And Bethesda paid millions of dollars to develop. So while technically it is possible, in reality, casual game modders do not have access to libaries of resources and support from the "very well paid" development team. Thus, unless we have some extremely talented and knowledgeable modder (who is likely working in the industry), we are unlikely to get a decent horse riding experience. That or Bethesda decides to implement it. But it may be to their own dilemma, because while Fallout 4 has a big map (for running around on feet), it is not that big if you have a horse or motorcycle. I feel even Skyrim has bigger map. I remember it was insane trying to get from 1 end of the map to the other. I had the Gypsie Wagon mod (a horse with a cart) that is a mobile player home with all the crafting stations and storage you ever need. I ended up phasing right through the mass fusion building at the half-way point. my screen then turned dark and a promt text in my corner read "Please dismount your horse before entering a building" :D Fallout 4 uses the VERY SAME ENGINE as skyrim. So odds are the mechanics (maybe even the models) are already in the engine. So after the GECK comes out it should be a cake-walk. to either find and use the already implemented features or copy past the features from skyrim right back into fallout 4 :PI hope this will become a mod one day. I don't think it's a stretch too far. And if not that... maybe motorcycles. Parts enough, base models enough for the guys and gals to tinker with. Your Mirelurk remark amused me.
