Bob428
While I do not know how to do it myself, I would like to see a mod created that allows the player character to have multiple weapons simultaneously displayed as if they were "equipped" on the player. Fallout uses different weapon slots for different kinds of weapons - e.g. two-handed rifles, one-handed weapons/grenades, and melee/(some) mines. These appear on your back, right hip, and left hip, respectively. So I got to thinking - how cool would it be to see my character decked out with my hunting rifle on my back, my .357 revolver on one hip, and my combat knife on the other - all at the same time? My inspiration for this idea came from a pistol holster mod that I was checking out. I thought it was a great idea, but didn't like how as soon as I equipped my rifle my pistol would suddenly disappear from my hip and I'd be running around with a completely pointless empty holster. (Specifically, I am referring to pattipat's re-meshed version of heavensturkey's original "holster" mod.) Any ideas on how to make this possible? I'm not great at messing around with the GECK, but if something like this is possible I'd be happy to turn over the idea to a more capable modder. Reply to this post if you're interested in helping out. And, obviously, if something like this has already been done just let me know where I can find it. So far I'm not aware of the existence of a mod like this. Thanks in advance for any help!
Shadow0115
WOW BOB428 DONT TELL ME YOU DID NOT READ MY THREAD SAYING AND HAVING THE EXACT SAME IDEA!!!
VincentIcarus
@Bob428: Here. This might help you out a little bit. @Shadow0115: This is actually the THIRD thread I've seen like this TODAY! I've seen this same thread hundreds of times. So technically, you're the one saying the exact same idea as people before you. In fact, I myself thought it would be a good idea and decided to post a thread stating such shortly after The Pitt was released for FO3. I was the 200th person to do that. So don't be upset that someone else is "stealing" your idea. If you look in the forums hard enough you'll find that ANY idea you could ever have has already been thought of by at least a dozen other people. So, cool your heels, take off the CAPS LOCK and actually READ the forums. Sincerely,-The Zen Master
Bob428
VincentIcarus: Thanks, I noticed his post right after I created mine and commented on it. You're right, I'm sure hundreds of people have had the idea before me. This is my first post on the forums, so I'm still learning how to navigate things. Shadow: First, there are 238 pages under the "request mods" topic, each with roughly 15 threads. That's approximately 3,570 threads, each with who knows how many comments. Nobody has the time to look through all that stuff, and if they do, I pity them Second, although your topic was located on the first page, your title of "Weapon Apparel (Read) Good Idea" wasn't exactly very informative. You might consider titles that more clearly articulate what the most important concept behind your mod is, because that didn't sound at all like what I was looking for. Third, when I actually did read the body of your thread, I found it confusingly worded and difficult to understand. What little bit I got out of your second post was that you wanted to have two rifles displayed crossing over one another in an "x" pattern on your character's back, which is again not what I was looking for. In any case, I'll be patient. Hopefully if enough people request this idea somebody who can actually do something about it will notice. Vincent, if you ever catch wind of any mods like this feel free to let me know. Again, thanks!
