  1. Well, mobo burnt out on me a few months back and I have been feverishly saving up for a new PC (time to upgrade anyway). Hopefully, soon, I'll be back to gaming and modding again.
  2. Well, guys, I am officially back. I am working on updating my mods and will be looking forward to working with some of you again.
  3. Hey, guys, Vincent here. Some of you guys might know me, some of you might night. I'm coming back to Skyrim modding after a long hiatus and I'm going to be updating all of my Skyrim mods BUT I need a little help. I've been searching around for tutorials on the CK and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial that tells me a little more about factions, how they function and how to create new ones. Allow me to elaborate: I'm currently working on updating my Accessible Vendor Chest mod and what I'd like to do is create a new faction of NPCs that guard the shops while they're closed so they'd have to be allied with the shopkeeper faction. Up until now that mod had regular City Guards in the shops acting as guards since their AI is similar to how I would like to have the shop guards but the problem with that is after you finish the Civil War quest line the guards in the shops that were allied with the losing faction will now attack the player and other NPCs in the shop and well, we just can't have that. Also, any tutorials about how to make randomly generated NPCs (similar to how Guards, Bandits and Mercenaries are generated) would be greatly appreciated.
  4. So, I'm probably gonna be coming back to Skyrim here pretty soon. So if I get all my old stuff back I'll probably be modding again too.
  5. Oh, nice. I'm glad that the Script Extender and TESEdit made a comeback for Skyrim. That'll make a lot of mod projects much easier.
  6. Hey, everybody. I know some of you may or may not remember me but I used to be a very active member here on the Nexus. I stepped away from Skyrim long before the first DLC became available and I'm just now coming back and wondering how the community's doing as far as mods and mod projects. Anything really big, new or exciting going on these days or is Skyrim modding more dead than it was before the CK was released?
  7. The Emperor met his death with dignity and honor and as an assassin that values honor more than gold, I must carry out his last request. As far as Amaund Motierre goes, it was nothing personal. It's just business.
  8. Okay. I've got a strange one for you guys. My game is crashing constantly but only when I fire an arrow when I'm zoomed in. I've already done the install/re-install and it's still crashing even though my new install does not have any mods. Has anyone else had this problem? It only happens when I'm firing a bow. It's aggravating because I usually play as an archer.
  9. Hey, everybody, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum but I wasn't sure where it would be appropriate to post this. My Skyrim has been crashing a lot lately, usually when I'm fully zoomed in with a bow and immediately after I release the arrow. So, to try to figure out which mod I'm having that is causing the crash (I'm assuming that it's a mod) I'm looking for a way to either make TES4Edit, FO3Edit or FNVEdit compatible with Skyrim. I remember seeing a post a long time ago where someone had gotten it to work but I couldn't remember how they did it or if it still worked how it was supposed to. I was hoping that someone here would be able to provide some helpful advice. Again, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong forums.
  10. I gotta say, that is one of the first Skyrim skits that actually had me laughing so hard that I literally fell out of my chair.
  11. I just now realized what it was. I downloaded all the Files from Breezes NV Males EXCEPT for the actual body replacer. The body replacer was leftover from Roberts mod (which is not as good IMO hence the switch). :wallbash: Thanks for the input.
  12. Hey, everybody, well after a 2 year hiatus I've decided to return to New Vegas while everyone gets over the excitement of Skyrim and the really good mods start coming out. Anyway, I found and downloaded Breezes New Vegas Males a mod that I used to have back in the day and for some reason, it's not working properly. I know I have to activate ArchiveInvalidation through FOMM which I did but now whenever I equip any type of armor the skin textures look like this: http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Vyticoz/New%20Vegas%20Character/error.jpg But the naked body has the correct textures: http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Vyticoz/New%20Vegas%20Character/correct.jpg Is there someone who can help me figure out why the correct textures aren't being displayed? EDIT: I did some checking around in my .ini files and in the Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini there's a line that says: [Archive] SInvalidationFile= Shouldn't it look more like: [Archive] SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt or has one of the patches obsoleted this method of ArchiveInvalidation? If so, where do I need to get the ArchiveInvalidation.txt file from? I have the latest version with all of the DLC's. If that makes any difference.
  13. Honestly, I'm pretty much done with Skyrim for right now. The Nexus (Skyrim) has just been FLOODED with new modders and new mods so for now, I'm going back to New Vegas until all this flooding stops and all the excitement dies down.
  14. Hey, guys, I'm trying to help someone figure out how to fix their mod and I've run into a little problem. Is there a way to create a Concentration cast spell with a Magnitude Value so it can be cast continuously? I've done some playing around and I've noticed if I changed the Magnitude from 0.00 to anything with a positive number the spell will cast the appropriate effect (slowing down time) but it will only cast it for 1 second. I want to be able to cast it continuously. If anyone wants to help or take a look at the mod in question it is: Time Freeze Spells by Nitrowon It's a pretty nice little mod but it's got a few bugs that need to be worked out and I for one would love to see this mod fully functional. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. If not, move along. Nothing to see here. :whistling:
  15. The best way to circumvent the EULA is to not release your mods publicly and by not using the CK or Steam but what I'm saying could be construed as promoting piracy and I don't condone piracy. The way I see it, just keep logs, screenshots and other physical proof that you created your material and did not use the CK or Steam or anything produced by Bethesda, Valve, Steam or any other associated producers, including Skyrim. After all, you're using their game engine to make your 3D models become useful. And *IF* Bethesda/Valve/Steam what-have-you decides they want to steal your work then you can sue them and provide proof that they can't touch your s**t. Me, personally, I don't care if they use stuff from my mods to improve the game. I'm doing it because I enjoy it and it makes the game more fun, for me if not for anyone else. If Bethesda/Valve/Steam want to jack my stuff and make it into an official DLC then, by all means, they can do that. I did, after all, agree to their EULA and I am using their programs and products. Last but not least, Jaysus, you're definitely one of the most talented modders here but if you're really that worried about people stealing your work then you need to stop modding, man. Someone, somewhere, at some point in time will probably like your stuff and take it and use it however they want, without your permission. I guarantee you, there's already 2-3 other websites dedicated to Skyrim mods that have a copy of your mod and they're hosting it without your permission right now!
  16. Expand the items tab in the CK and you'll see an entry entitled Constructible Objects. That's where you'll find all the existing recipes in the game to forge and temper armor and weapons.
  17. I want to say this is a vanilla problem. I don't ever remember a dagger or sword equipped to my left hand and it having a sheathing/unsheathing animation. My left hand would just kind of move towards my chest a little bit and *poof* insta-weapon.
  18. Never mind, guys, I figured out that if you just change the FormID to have 01 at the beginning i.e. from 00001000 to 01001000 and then load the esp into the CK it will automatically assign new FormID numbers to any conflicting FormID's. All you have to do then is just go through and do some general clean-up and make sure that the crafting recipes give the items that they're supposed to.
  19. Hey, guys, I've been having a little bit of an error with the Creation Kit. I've already searched all over the Bethesda forums and Google but so far I haven't found anyone who's had a similar problem. I'm trying to load up one of the .esp files from my Bucklers mod and everytime I open it with the CK the following error occurs: FORMS: File "Bucklers-Complete.esp" contains a form with a master file ID but no match in the master file: (00001000) "Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this context. If I click Yes to all the same message keeps coming up but with a different number in parenthesis every time. Also when it finally does load up after about 200 of these messages well over half of the items added by my mod are missing and the remaining third is incorrect. So, I guess my question is, what exactly is causing this error and how do I fix it so that my .esp file will load properly?
  20. I don't know how you were able to do that without your computer crashing. You must have an extremely good computer. The video, however, is PURE EPIC WIN!
  21. My Nord Warrior married Ysolda. I felt bad about what happened in the Hangover quest so I tried to make it up to her and ended up marrying her. *1st Playthrough* My High Elf Spellsword did not marry because there were no suitable Altmer females, in his opinion. *2nd Playthrough* My Khajiit Assassin is currently unmarried but is considering Luaffyn. She has the most beautiful voice of all the female bards, IMO and with the Better Females by Bella mod, she is by far the prettiest Dark Elf I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I'll have to use console commands and the romance in marriage is pretty much non-existant so I'll probably end up just putting it off for a few weeks until a few of the inevitable marriage mods are released.
  22. My theory is that they are doing this so that Bethesda can create DLC's from user-created content. They want to have easy access to the ideas we have already created and implement them in a future release. Example: Back when New Vegas first came out, before the first DLC (Dead Money, I think) was released, I created an MRE mod that had real MRE meshes and flavors and all that good stuff. So when Bethesda/Obsidian released The Lonesome Road they incorporated MRE's into that DLC. Now I'm not saying they took the idea from me. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't. I don't know and I, honestly, don't care. But you can see the point I'm trying to make. If they can take assets created by users and use them to take shortcuts, they can release a higher quality DLC faster. Am I mad? Nah, not even a little. I actually thought it was really clever. But that's just my 2 cents.
  23. Looks like the OP got himself banned so I'm pretty sure this is dead as far as The Nexus is concerned. He might be hosting it on another site though. EDIT: If you google the mod name you can find it on Planet Elder Scrolls, however, if you download it you see that it's just a series of player.placeatme bat files. There is no actual mod.
  24. Here ya go. Some reading materials for you to mull over. Daedric Princes
