Klydeduce
so heres my problem... You will need to add the following line in fallout4prefs.ini to the below section marked [Launcher]: bEnableFileSelection=1 You will need to change the following line in Fallout4.ini: sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ these things i need to do before i can use mods are no where to be found ive searched the falloutprefs file throughly and there is no launcher tab in there, and there isnt a fallout4.ini file anywhere either unless its the same as the fallout4.exe file but still would have the issue with the falloutprefs file not having the launcher tab!?? Ethreon
Check files via steam. Launch the game at least once for ini files to be created.
Kastergir
Did your game update itself with the latest Beta patch by Bethesda from Steam ? If so, those instructions maybe a bit outdated . I am not entirely sure, but I THINK Beth changed the .ini(s) to look at the archives instead of directories... XD . Anyways: Usually, the .ini files should be at "MyDocuments\MyGames\Fallout4\" . You should not see a Fallout4.exe in the Directory where you look for the .ini(s) to be changed XD . If there is no [Launcher] in your Fallout4Prefs.ini...dare and simply add that Section like this : [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 ? As for the Data Dirs thingie -as I wrote above . Ethreon
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best way to enable mods http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation

Ethreon
copy the entire filed including the [Archive] part. Notepad++ recognizes that as new set.
