I have a fairly long list of Mods...but Yesterday I was running around having a good time stomping Muties and Ferals ...was on my way to Oberland Station for the MM quest there and CTD....hummm oh well reloaded tried again CTD on approach same general area...hummm ok tryed approaching from a different direction...ctd...Approxamatly same distance from the Station .....well crap...ok tried going to Green Garden for the Same reason...CTD......said screw it fast travled back too Sanctuary..got there except.....All work I had done on the Area, all houses all junk was back....having spent about 6 hours cleaning, building, and setting up turrets I was more then a little ticked.....reloaded from a Previous Save WAY back (even before I cleaned the place up and no go Home Maker and everything still had all the stuff in the workbench and I could build it and Place it but nothing I did would work....so deleted all mods via NMM then Deleted NMM (ALL Locations and directories) deleted entire game unsynced from Steam (so it would not load back the save files), ran a couple of clean up utilities (too remove any files left behind by uninstalling Fallout 4 and NMM , Reinstalled Fallout 4, Reinstalled NMM reDownloaded and Installed My Mods with NMM, Ran Loot to ensure proper load order, restarted game...some mods work some mods do not, I did all the Ini edits as were supposed too ....... What doesn't work that I can see right off the bat is Repaired roofs, and Spring Cleaning (tried Scrap Scrap and Scrap everything as well NO GO....HELP!!!!!!!!! (Homemaker seems too be working but have not built a damned thing yet)

I may have found the problem.... seems you cannot have steam and NMM installed on one drive and the game on another....weird.

You can, but NMM has to run with Admin privileges. I have a very similar setup on my computer with my OS running on the M.2 SSD and my gaming harddrive on a Samsung 1TB SSD. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention when I installed Steam and FO4 ended up installed on the OS SSD. I had NMM install on the gaming SSD and had to setup the special settings for it running on a separate drive along with granting Admin UCP privileges in the compatibility settings. I'm running Win 10 Pro, but I seem to remember Win 7 having a similar UCP setup, just a little less strict.

EDIT: The Screwdriver/Wrench icon at the top-> Change Virtual Folders... "Enable Multi-HD install mode" then specify a folder in the newly opened text box for files that HAVE to be installed on the same installation drive as the game. The rest will be put in the folder above.

If you set up ahead of time where you want to install your games, Steam has no problem with it. It is after you install, and want to move it, that it has problems.

I hate to do this, but switching mod managers maybe the way to go. It'll take some work, I'm in the process of doing so, at the moment. I'm, right now, making sure the game at least starts up for me. I did have a set back doing it, but I am fairly confident where my fault was. I'm going to continue adding mods to things, and making sure I can at least get to the main menu. I'm picking and choosing which mods to go with ahead of time. I think my previous attempt was too much, too rushed, and not enough testing. I personally use Mod Organizer 2. It is still in the experimental stages, but it does keep your game's data folder clean and pristine.
