[WIP] Mator Smash - The Conflict Resolution Revolution

This is miraculous... solved compatibility issues I wasn't even aware of. I was so bummed (years ago) to see that Bash was hardly doing anything with Skyrim, but it looks like that problem is on its way out. Super awesome, thank you! If/when I find any problems or anything else noteworthy to the development I'll let you know, but about an hour of playtime with my entire load order smashed has been perfectly stable.

Question: does and/or will this be able to fully integrate plugins, like Bash, so they can be disabled altogether? Sorry if it's been mentioned before I'm awful at scanning forums.

Also, do you have a donation mechanism? Because I would totally throw some money into the development of this.

Hi jbanthony,

I'm glad to hear Smash has made a difference for you!

There is a feature in Smash which lets it "fully integrate" plugins that are comprised entirely of override records. You can find in on the "Patching" tab of the Option Window. It's called "Merge redundant plugins". Check that and Smash should combine redundant plugins into the smashed patch and inform you in the log at the end of smashing which plugins have been combined.

EDIT: And you can donate to me through Paypal via Nexus Mods.

I'm trying to use Mator Smash with MO2 and Fallout 4. I've got it launching fine, and it sees all my mods, but when I try to write my first patch, it writes the output folders, scrolls through two Bethesda plugins, then stops with this error:

"Failed to patch Smashed Patch, Access violation at address ..."

So, the fact that it writes the folders suggests to me that it's either trying to update something other than the patch itself, or it's some kind of read error. I've used "TakeOwnership" on every folder in the settings. Any ideas on what it's having problems accessing?

The issue sounds to me like you need to send me your full log so I can determine what's actually happening.

(Hint: Smash doesn't write anything to the output folders until the smashing is completed)

Let me know if this is what you are looking for: http://pastebin.com/wuHJMTyA

I'm betting it's these two lines:

[13:59:33] (GENERAL) ModOrganizer: Mod Organizer ini file C:\Program Files (x86)\ModOrganizer\ModOrganizer.ini does not exist
[13:59:33] (GENERAL) ModOrganizer: Cannot find modlist C:\Program Files (x86)\ModOrganizer\profiles//modlist.txt
EDIT: Fixed the obvious errors by making my MO2 set-up look more like what Smash was looking for. Still got the same error in the progress window. PasteBin logs updated.

Recently found your hard work and I'm trying to figure out how to use it successfully. I began having issues because the program wasn't loading all of my plugins from MO and of the plugins it did load, most were out of order. I found a post by someone with a similar issue that mentioned using the "Redate Plugins" option in LOOT and that worked for the most part. I am now loading all of my plugins from MO, but some are still out of order.

Even with that, I'm showing no errors on the plugins tab. When I select all of them, set them to the patch I created, and try to build the patch, everything looks like it works. However, at the very end of the log, there's this line, "Failed to patch Paladin, No records to patch!"

When I exit the program, the patch gets created in my MO mods folder but there's nothing in it.

Thank you for making this tool and tutorial video.(especially, that combine setting moment)

IÂ created "automatic" setting but some records don't look right(like you said). Here is what I change.

- Uncheck BOOK > OBND - Object Bounds

- Uncheck IPCT - Impact

- Uncheck SNDR - Sound Descriptor

Problem is I'm not familiar with many records so I can't tell if it do something wrong but it works fine(for now).
