Kalenyx
In the process of downloading new face and hair style modules, I encountered .ace files. Pardon my ignorance, but where do these files go, and how can one utilize them without a "knife" (esp, esm) file (icon)?
ThetaOrionis01
.ace is a compressed file type. Before you can use them you need to un-compress them, using a program such as ZipGenius. Checked the pinned topics for more information, including where to get ZipGenius.
Kalenyx
I uncompressed them with the default windows xp extracter, yet they remained .ace files. If they are uncompressed now, what do I do with them? Thankyou for your time. All of the files come without notepad read-me's.
ThetaOrionis01
You could first of all check if the files have been uncompressed to a different directory - if an archive is uncompressed you'll still have the original archive as well as the extracted files. You can't use the files in .ace format. If you can't find the extracted files anywhere on your computer, try downloading ZipGenius - it's free, and it works - or other programs which are definitely able to extract .ace files. I've never used the xp extractor, so I don't know if it is actually capable of uncompressing .ace files.
