hector530
I wonder if dismemberment would apply to the player as well. it did in fallout 3 and New Vegas
AurianaValoria1
Maybe they should add in dismemberment, but then Beth should add an option to toggle it off, for people who don't prefer it or play the game in front of family members. I agree. This sounds like a fair compromise.

NAPALM13092
I would welcome dismemberment only if it was done is a realistic manner if not then don't even attempt it as most videogames severely underestimate the strength of bone and muscle and dismemberment comes off as cheesy. The only attacks in Skyrim that should take a persons limbs clear off should be power attacks with large cleaving type weapons such as two handed axes, two handed swords, extremely sharp cutting weapons such as katanas, very power explosions from magic, and then only to exposed areas not covered with plate or chainmail. Anything less is a deep laceration, crushing would, or pierce via arrow, mace, longsword, etc. Also people are not filled with 90 gallons of pressurized blood. The average human being only has about 8-10 pints of blood in them at about 2PSI so not even dismemberment of the limbs, throat slitting, beheading, or heart piercing would cause a sprinkler spray of gore for a minutes on end but an intense gushing at best. In certain games like Ninja Gaiden and God of War things like this are part of the over the top nature of the game but in Elder Scrolls it just wouldn't feel the part unless they went in a more realistic direction. micalov
If it does have it sure it would be easy to disable it because USK ( german version) wont be allowed to have it if they want to meet the requirements to sell in Germany and taht seems like a big RPG market. crippledorphan
I'm sure there will be an option to turn of blood and gore for the younger or more sensitive folk but I think I read somewhere that it won't be as gorrey FO3
MaceInTheFace
Guys, keep in mind that this thread was NOT created as a debate on if/if not they should add dismemberment.
Soulven
I believe there will be dismemberment, and thats just fine. It adds realism. What Bethesda should do is add a option to turn off the graphic content for the more squeamish players like they did in call of duty black ops. That's just my opinion. Vindekarr
God, I really hope they add dismemberment. Infact, I want a mod that adds MOAR GORE! Me? Im a big fan of totaly ridiculous splatty gore. I like my games over-the-top, zany, and explosively violent in a ridiculous, mega-bloody sort of way. For me Deadly Reflex was fight-heaven, a messy as all hell mod, but one that needed extensive re-calibration to ensure that heads, arms and legs all flew off in every battle. I like storming forward into a seethign tide of enemy good-doers, and with every slice of my Plague Scythe, to slice off arms, legs, heads, and send titanic geisers of blood into the sky. I play as a god in Oblivion so the ability to tear bits off people is almost realistic by the standards of the mods I use. But seriously, combat should be rewarding, and if your blows produce gouts of blood, do high damage, and eventualy tear the target limb-from-limb, you'll feel like Khorne. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee454/Vindekarr/Untitled.png Edited April 24, 2011 by Vindekarr
midtek
I don't think Beth is a possession of blood god, or bloody god whatever it is. Personally, "Off with their heads!" is not bad, but a big piece of meat soars from the air in Fallout3 and the sequel was something rather annoying. If GORE is ahead of us, I hope it would be well visualized.
