BooneoftheWasteland
Definitely use chems. I always 'saddle up' going on missions or exploring areas with Buffout, Psycho, Med-x and Mentats. I use to use jet with that as well in FO3/NV but for obvious reasons less so with FO4. I love BLTC with 3 and CAM with NV for the visual highs some of them have for the color saturations it gives so I look forward to a mod that will add these extras. Raycheetah
Watching Let's Plays, I am amazed at how seldom people even use Rad-X. They might if they have to cross a river, or enter a reactor (and the effects of multiple doses stack, by the way), but I see players going into fights with crowds of ghouls, and don't even consider that Rad-X is like armor against the Rad damage they're inevitably gonna take. Better not to have to see your Health bar being eaten up in the first place, putting you at risk of a big hit killing you, than to have to fiddle mid-fight with Radaway, then a Stimpack. ='[.]'=

I do take Rad X if I'm going into an area that I know is highly irradiated, like the glow sea, but never before fighting ghouls.
JackTrenton
Med-X is kind of unnecessary though. It just gives +25 damage resistance. Psycho does the exact same thing but also has a +25% damage output. 5 ranks of the toughness perk gives 50% damage resistance. I guess they stack together though. I only use those chems when I'm up against a boss enemy or higher level. Power armor makes the effect even more moot. I use a lot of rad-x when I'm going into heavily irradiated areas. I hadn't considered it against feral ghouls before. Thanks for the idea. You are right, I use radaway and then stimpack in battle against them all the time. Might as well pop rad-x instead. Deleted2433418User
All the Freaking time;-) Psychobuff,Bufftats,Rad-x are a constant..even have them on the quick menu..and to those that talk of"going in to battle straight".. talking from experience..you don´t want to do that..if you´ve been awake for x hours and know, just know, that the plucks are just around the next bend or coming at you full throttle you want to pop some amf or any other thing that keeps you on your toes..(and feeling like superman).. same after..some drink, some smoke, some do both...i just wish that we had a thing like Psychobuff when i served... tomomi1922
I hate to be drug dependent so I prefer to go drug free. :smile:Haha, well, Stimpak is considered Chem right? I use Stimpak, RadX and Radaway. The rest I kinda save them up until I really need. And problem is, I don't really need them, so after a while I have tons of chem I don't remember to use. In RPG I am usually doing very badly with finance, so I can never afford those outrageously priced potions. In MMORPG I was just as bad (and with no console command cheat). I always went out for the fun and neglected the money making part. So that taught me a frugal mentality. In FO4, I will turn to chem when I kept dying to a certain battle. It doesn't quite happen because my playstyle is a VATs sniper. Not only I had all sniper perks, but also my outfit + weapons were made to yield maximum action points. Each tine I can queue up to 10 shots per full AP bar. My character can clear a room (with about 5-6 normal mobs) in about 3 game seconds. In VATs, I can reload/shoot my bolt actions 10 times in the amount of time I take to shoot 5 shots of machinegun in real time game (if that makes any sense).
