Deletion of Incorrect Image Placeholders?

Hello. I uploaded an archive file to the database and added some screenshots. I used improper characters on the screenshots and they would not display. Changed the names and reuploaded and they work fine.

One problem is that I cannot delete the old incorrect images. When I click delete on one of the images the page refreshes with the files still present.

I do get an error on the page but it may be related to the incorrect names. The error is invalid character and the code is zero. Perhaps the inproperly named images cannot be located by the database system for deletion because of the naming errors?
