Detrimental2
Hello :) I have never used a mod before and I just have a few simple questions that I've gotten some differing answers for. Now that Steam has installed the 1.3 patch for Fallout: New Vegas I am told that before I can download and use some mods that I need to wait for them to get updated as well (This makes sense.) The mods I'm interested in using require NVSE (New Vegas Script Editor) with the optional FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager.) This is where I've been getting some differing answers. My question is do I only have to wait for NVSE and possibly FOMM (If I want to use it) to update for the new patch or do I also have to wait for the actual mods such as Project Nevada to update for the new patch as well? Some have told me that I need to wait for both (NVSE and Project Nevada) to update and others have said I only need to wait for NVSE to update. I'm not entirely sure how the whole mod process works/relies on NVSE so I am in the dark on which answer to accept. I'll figure it out eventually once NVSE gets updated and I attempt to use some mods that aren't updated but require NVSE. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :) Edited April 25, 2011 by Detrimental2
JimboUK
Keep an eye on this site http://nvse.silverlock.org/ you will need to the lastest version to use any mods that require NVSE, the game won't start with an older version. They are usually quite quick with the updates.
FlankerDFR
What ****** me off to no end is I've repeatedly reset my Steam options for FNV to DO NOT AUTO UPDATE THIS GAME (or whatever the drop down menu says in Steam/FNV/Options). Bleeping Steam just resets itself :wallbash: and the options I've selected for any particular game everytime it updates "Steam Client". I've never played multiplayer on Steam, and I swear it is the most intrusive, obnoxious, and overbearing app I've got on my comp. Fortunately for whoever invented it, it's still physically impossible for me to choke them out over the internet!!!! :verymad:

ssconvert
I've already added about 30 mods to my game and steam is currently updating patch.Total waste of time as I am going to reinstall the game and all mods once they have been updated to accomodate the new patch.Give the modders some time to do this, especially Arwen's overhaul. So basically not going to look at this game for another 2 weeks or so.
Wolfiefang
Well I hope the confused people are still reading this... No you will NOT need to update all your mods. There should be VERY few mods that need to update for this patch. There may be a few hiccups with some that use NVSE and I know some who balanced the guns are doing a bit of a rebalancing. Beyond that you are fine. The big thing to do is just update your NVSE at the link a few posts up.
longprong
Yeh I'm still here Wolfiefang and thanks for your advice. There is no rush for me to patch just yet especially as I have just got my mod installs to run in harmony together..I'll hang back a while and monitor those mod boards that change weapon balance etc.
