Shivering Isles not activating

Alright, I apparently can't do any of this myself, so once again I come to you all for help.

 

The quest to go to Nibenay Bay won't activate. It's the GotY edition, and Knights of the Nine is working perfectly. I also have Shivering Isles bounty mentioned in my player stats -- the quest won't activate, though. Dunno what to do. I'm using OOO, but I remember reading that this shouldn't cause a conflict?

Does the island show up on your world map?

Have you downloaded the latest official patch for Oblivion/Shivering? That was my problem for a little while.

He has GOTY, no additional Official patches required. (He? She? You get the idea.)

There is an island on the world map, but it's got no map markers of any kind.

have a look at this map. Just east of Bravil, there is a small island with the "strange door" label, do you see that island?

 

and.... just out of idle curiosity, do you have Win7, or Vista, with the game installed to the default location?

No, that's not on my map.

 

And it's installed in Program Files now, not (x86). :P I had that problem with OOO earlier, so I reinstalled literally everything over to Program Files so I wouldn't have any more problems. At least, I assume that's why you're asking about Win7 and Vista?

 

Anyway, I'm even more confused now because I made a new character and it activated for HER, but it still won't work for my main character at all.

That was the very worst move you could have made. Progame Files is one of the biggest causes of problems in games.

 

As far as Shivering Isles not activating, it does not activate immediately. Go about your business and within 3-4 days, usually, the quest will kick in.

did you install the 2nd DVD?

 

That is the one with KoTN and Shivering Isles on it - (didn't do this myself when I first got the game)

 

EDIT: nvm I see that KoTN is working

I have an entire drive dedicated to Oblivion (sad, I know lol) D drive rocks btw.

 

Try placing Oblivion somewhere else. I have heard about program file problems also.
