Nexus Site Contests

I believe it is possible that the site could have contests where for a certain time (like 48 or ? hours in length) a contest for members of the site will form teams (or do it pro-bono). The contests could range to whatever specifications.

 

For instance: create a mod for DA2 where new meshes, weapons, and armors pertaining to oriental design are made (like katanas, ninjo-to's, etc.). Teams will have 52 hours to complete their mods, late submissions will of course be welcomed on the site, but disqualified from this particular contest.

 

Of course what's a contest without a reward, the first guess would be monetary (like a 1000 dollar reward to the winning team if not to each winning member! ;D ). There could be prizes for second and third place as well.

 

Of course, the prizes would be whatever the administrators/owners of the site seem fitting for the contest and leave room for others to give endorsements.

Well we do have the millionth member competition and all that stuff.

Erm... A thousand dollars might be a bit much for a weekly contest.

 

As for that sort of thing, there is the 2.5 Million Member Competition going on now. For more regularly scheduled ones, the Files of the Month serve the purpose well.

I never said they were weekly, we could have weekly contests with whatever prizes, and maybe a yearly (or half-yearly) contest with a large prize like 1000 dollars. This is why I said it would be up to the owners of the site with what the prizes are.

 

Competitions would obviously spark more interest in uploading to the site instead of just downloading, more endorsements, more people entering the site, more popularity, etc. I think this idea should be seriously considered.
