zeltacore
Zeltacore, the reason some mods say to have that long line of stuff is because it is either an older mod, or that you may not have changed the file to bInvalidateOlderFiles=1. That line of code, somewhere in the ini file will take the place of the stuff after the sResouceDataDirsFinal= line. So it's just safer to leave the sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, textures\, sound\ etc on. I only have 3-4 mods that requires the /textures and /sound options being added to the line and I haven't noticed any increase in loading times. SirTwist
That is fine with a small number of mods. However, larger numbers, it is better to do the invalidate line, and clear out the Resource one. One other thing, before you edit the ini files too much, to copy them elsewhere, and back them up. Drivinghard
Can i Make this WORSE??? noting all of the above references to 'older mods' requiring all those strings to be added to the end of the sResourceDataDirsFinal= This confusion is much much worse because . . Some of the authors said to add the line to the Fallout4.ini file . . but the OTHER half said to add it inSTEAD to the Fallout4CUSTOM.ini file . . speaking of which, what in fact IS SO the diff between the 2 diffrent ini files? Fallout4Custom.ini allows you to make changes to the Fallout4.ini without actually editing Fallout4i.ini. That way you can make changes to or add something new and have the vanilla Fallout4.ini. When a mod author tell you to edit one or the other it is all preference/experience on their part.
