  1. well you don't delineate whether you want to make a MOD that contains custom door frames or whether you just want to ASSEMBLE custom door frames in a settlement you are building so my remedy for the Latter one .. is to mix and match pieces from several building kit types of mods i have together if necessary and if anything fits or snaps.. many pieces from many different mods will snap and work together often
  2. BECAUSE! Piper was some sort of prototype .. and her face has TWO TIMES as many moving parts as every other face in the game .. I was having the same experience despite trying almost 5 presets.. you need THIS mod to fix things PERMANENTLY! www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/76690 cheers, Wayner
  3. WAIT!!! Occasionally and rarely although actually . it can SO happen that you are too far away from the physical location of the actual WORKBENCH in a settlement and if you close the workshop, then move closer to the workbench and try again you will find you menus return .. (until you try to REOPEN the workshop from too far away again) this is more prevalent in NEW Mod locations than in Vanilla ones.. Other than that either: A) you have changed your Load order somehow B) you have installed additional mods which may have cause (A) above

  5. Big confession: I like to Duplicate legendary weapons and armors using the console and 2 different steamer trunks, and i like to randomly dole out random MAGICAL armors to settlers :)
  6. thanks I thought so .. so they are more or less like 'Lucky Charms' providing protection to the ENTIRE NPC .. rather than to each individual isolated body part they are worn on. haha.. boy after level about 65 you sure start to see many strange weird armor pieces with all sorts of magic

When you loot weird pieces of armor which claim they for ie., grant 15% protection from SuperMutants .. are we to assume this is only for example a leg or arm that is going to be protected? because all of the wording in all of the wikis by connotation and by intimation appear to insinuate that .. for ie., by wearing a magical leg armor the WHOLE NPC is going to be protected? Does anybody know of a 'definative' explaination??
  8. well you can always open the console and enter the 'TFC' command to freecam .. and then close the console then you can freecam WHILE in workshop mode .. but be careful because while you are moving around in freecam your "Earthly" body will be moving and selecting different items in workshop mode too
  9. they are such monstrous locations and structures you would think we could sgrink our save files this way? just off chance has anybody who has SO blown up the Institute, the Nucleus, or the Prydwen NOTICED if there was a savefile Size impact?
  10. Has anybody ever seen 1 raider actually infiltrate a settlement, steal things, and then attempt to escape with the loot? Then WHY are they called Raiders? seems like somebody doesn't understand English. They are NOT Raiders .. all Raiders are only Atttackers. If they were just sneaking INTO a settlement to steal and then run away with their squamy Pipe pistols it would be more believable.. but 3 raiders with pipe pistols trying to attack a heavily armed and fortified and defended developed settlement? Oh well...

I wouldn't even launch the game if i didn't have 'Whisper's Institute Build Kit" at all i can't imagine .. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/55563 however, it gets tired quickly with only having ONE color and shade of WALLS available in this otherwise amazing settlement building kit mod be nice to have about 6 different color/texture choices for the walls in this mod don't you think ??   12. one tiny little squamy boat provides all the travelling to and from FH and the Commonwealth? like just one Caravaner with guards and Brahmin would sink that thing be awesome to board a genuine Ocean Liner for the trip with functioning interior/exterior on a trip that takes up to 24 hours to travel? a ship Full of the .."tired masses" .. and you never know whom you're gonna meet on it? hyuk hyuk, Cheers
  13. thx 363 .. i used those 155's all the way through my last 28 mth playthru .. i am just 'enforcing/disciplining' myself to be more Minimalist with mods in this 'pet' playthrough though those 155's were slightly more painful to place too however :)

  15. I am fascinated with the FO4 Game Engine itself and settlement Building and very 'moderate' questing if they are not avoidable. My personal view is i equate the basic 'FO4 Game Engine' to the good old Gutenburg Printing Press which i believe was invented in the 1500's ?? Just look at 'everything' that has flown off of printing presses throughout the world for the past 500 years? Compared to the Highest ideals and thoughts of mankind .. a large portion of what has been wrapped around the base FO4 Engine .. is, besides being a cultural programming psyop, .. not the Loftiest in mankind. Hence most of my game is geared to eradicating the garbage stories psyops cultural programming and cancel culture embedded in the vanilla game !! and the more questing and Treasure Hunting you conduct the shorter will be the lifespans of all of your little AI friends due to save file bloating so everything in FO4 is a trade-off all the time
  16. My Artillery Minuteman somehow rotated his artillery to point North (over his head) .. but when i BUILT that artillery piece i placed it with the gun pointing south .. ?? .. I did not know those guys could actually spin those guns around on those gears and i have never seen one of them moving ever so i just wondered wt? was up with this? .. the platform upon which his artillery sits has not moved at all, but somehow he managed to spin the gun around on those gears is this a genuine vanilla feature of Artillery?

  18. Hi .. I totally LOVED those drones, and i did SO open up that esp and adjust the volume on another gamebox by using FO4Edit.. i forget doing all that though because all in all .. I could not accept those drones running in the WILD at Random Encounter points :sad: As far as Settlement Defence i thought those drones were the best thing in the world (after i had turned down their volumes) .. however that author although politely asked for it, had absolutely zero intentions of making a 'Settlement Defence ONLY" version so i uninstalled his mod.. I'll try to find the directories where i kep all of my notes when i adjusted the volume for you.. and get back to you with the value you need to change MEANWHILE .. I recommend an alternative Drone system for settlement defences.. 'Settlement Radar Station" gives you deployable drones in 5 power levels each, both Defenders, and also Strikers which will travel outside of the settlements and eliminate approaching enemies too but do not bother with this mod's 'Minutemen Reinforcements" detectors because it is based on Turret Sensors.. and long after the enemies have been vanquished by the drones and turrets... THEN the radar tries to teleport reinforcements in but it is always tooo late :smile: At The Slog.. when i visit there, one of the Settlement Radar Drones will fly over to that Guard Post at the forge and knock that guy out all the time so it is always fund to watch.. the poor guys never know what they are being attacked by :wink:
  19. so? who the heck else is a kind and considerate enough human being that they would choose a long playthrough mileage and long living NPC friends (AI's) over and above: ~ unnecessary questing and save file bloating ~ to many mods selfishly installed at the expense of long lives for the settlers ~ what's more important to you? long living settlers and AI's or every stitch of lore? (you can't have both) ~ you only need a dozen settlements max, are you doing settlers, workshops, playthrough lifespan a favor with 30? will be nice to hear how some of you take steps to perpetualize your NPC's Drivinghard
  20. try keeping the perspective that all NPC's see YOU and regard YOU as a giant Ezekial sized SPaceship that controlls everything in the game

  22. well we can only wish .. it would sure be more FUN actually to do 12 or more repeatable Capture the Flag quests .. than to dredge through 12 'one-time-only' convoluted Faction story lines .. the Beauty? they'd all be perpetually REplayable :smile: this would be the Death knell of 'savefile bloating!'

GOTY version is working and flying like a bic :) FSE just dropped it in and current version works flawlessly.. using Vortex.. only thin i did DIFFERENTLY this time was told Vortex to use a Staging direcory for the mods OUTSIDE of the user/xxxxxx/ protected directories this time.. speaking of which , there is also game-specific discussion forums ON Gog.com :smile: My honest take? I truly felt like the GOTY version was a lot 'tidier' and more fluid and lucid to use :)
  24. haha .. depends on your 'Carryweight' :smile: and like seriously ? why bloat a save file (reducing game mileage) by traveling around and questing to get the gear :smile: And of COURSE this works with clothing and armor and items with ballistic weave.. and ALSO all of your modded up weapons .. :)
