NCRForever
It's just random. But, it's getting to be often. No rhyme or reason. No certain places. Just BOOM! CTD. No error message or anything. I have set the autosave to every 5 minutes now. But, still, a lot can happen in 5 minutes. I have verified game with Steam. Even deleted core files and had Steam redownload and install. Nothing fixes it.
Royhr
I've started to see this as well after the patch even thought I had been running the beta all along without CTDs. Generally I'm just walking along, nowhere in particular, and I'll CTD like I quit the game.... I restart from the last save and it'll happen a few more times basically at the same spot and then just as suddenly it'll stop and the game will play ok. I did verify the game files and it did update 2 files. Also noticed that in my Steam library it showed Fallout as beta. After the verified files were uploaded it removed the beta from the name. Since then I haven't had any CTDs but also I have not played all that much to really tell if that made any difference or not.

Royhr
i cant even get past the please stand by screen. ahhhhhh i want to playWere you able to ever play the game or did it start doing this after the update? Generally when you get a CTD during the load it's some sort of mod conflict. Have you tried loading with the mods disabled? If it loads ok then you need to check your mods. NCRForever
I removed all of my mods and it was still happening. I even deleted the game itself last night and let it reinstall during the night. I've been playing now for 3 hours and it still randomly crashes without mods loaded. I started a new run and as soon as I leave the vault, it crashes.
Aksi20100418
I don't know if my FO4 has gotten the patch (Steam, so probably... yes? I didn't know about the patch so never checked the version), and last night I added one mod, the lightbox not requiring power, and I just played around in one spot with it to make sure it doesn't require power. Then I scraped the boxes, started running around sanctuary and within 2 to 3 sec, I am out on desktop. I thought it was the mod that I have added. So I deactivated that one only and started playing again for about 1.5 hour without issue. Hope it was just the mod that was crashing.

Royhr
Mine is still crashing. Even though I am not running any mods anymore + the reinstall.Did you delete the old INIs from mygames folder when you did the reinstall and have the game create new ones? Also did you start a new game and not use any old saves?
