mincentatties
Hello all, first post here. I've been more of a spectator for a while but i've taken the plunge and stared modding oblivion. Thing is, on a vanilla install of oblivion (steam version) My fps stays at a constant 60fps (apart from occasinal dips). However I've installed a few select mods and now my framerate seems to be capped @30fps (using FRAPS to prove this). Mods installed are: All unofficial patchesDarnified UIStreamline 2.1All Natural (weather system only) I've turned off streamline/darnified/all natural but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there anyway for me to lift the cap on the framerate? It's very noticable going from 60fps to a locked 30fps. Cheers Ross
eric31415
Have you installed an OBSE plugin called Oblivion Stutter Remover? Its commonly used( and highly recomended), but caps FPS at 30.If not, open your streamline ini and check your FPS settings.note; Streamline 2.1 is outdated, use 3.1 instead. If you are going to mod Oblivion, you will probably have to learn to live with sub 30 FPS eventually. Edited May 3, 2011 by eric31415
mincentatties
Thank you so much. It was the Oblivion stutter remover that was causing this. I didn't realise I had it installed. Must have been left over in my steam folder from a previous modding adventure! I've increased the FPS cap to 60 and it's back to normal now. Getting High 50's all the time. Also upgraded streamline to 3.1 too. Game runs smooth as butter now. Thanks again for your quick reply!
Faivon
Hmm, so is it streamline or oblivion stutter remover that makes 60 fps or 50s?
HeyYou
OSR certainly does it, but, it is configurable. I think streamline also has that option.
ArmeniusLOD
It's OSR that imposes the hard cap. Streamline just uses the FPS settings as a threshold of when to start adjusting graphic details to increase performance.
nneto4120
If anyone is having this problem, I can also assure all that it is OSR that is the problem. I had it installed and the game would run at 30 FPS unless in a menu. After uninstalling it, the game ran super smooth.
Tharkun221
OSR has an .ini file. You can change the FPS limit from 30 to anything you like. You don't need to uninstall it to get a higher fps.
