I have always been installing it into the program files (x86) folder but I've heard that that is not a good idea. Where should I install the game? eric31415
Sounds like a problem with the Oblivion ini. No matter where the game is installed, this is always in the same place. Try renaming it so the game will generate a fresh one on startup. If vanilla won't run, it's probably this or bad registry entries.

Deleted1339625User
No, this isn't the steam version... But it doesn't matter! I deleted the ini so that the game could create a new one and yes! I got oblivion to run now! Thank you all for the help, it really is appreciated!
