lode421
I was wondering if someone would mod in the christian religion.I know its a sensitive topic but I would appreciate it. Thank you.
firepower02
Why?It would contradict the lore in skyrim, with its numerous gods, and you're not specific enough.
ShadowDestroyerOfTime
I don't think anyone would mod in something that contradicts the lore that much to the game. There is literally no room for it in lore.It goes against what we know of the history in the game, what we know of the metaphysics, etc.
RGMage2
Lore is only important to people who care about it, which certainly isn't everyone. Modding in a religion is as valid an idea for a mod as any other. If a mod author wanted to do it they would do it That's they way it works - mod author wants it mod author makes it. It never hurts to put ideas out there, you never know where they might lead.

Let me correct it then.I don't think anyone would take a REQUEST that would require quite a bit of time to make that would:1) Not be used by hardly anyone2) Contradicts lore3) Is not that great of an idea to begin with I have only seen people make mods that they themself wanted, that would be used by many people, that was lore friendly and expanded on lore, or that is a great idea. This fits none of that.
simtam
:sigh: and yet we've seen such mods already (yes, "mods" - they are plural! their number is less than legion, hopefully) Can't really recommend anything in particular, cause from what I know the Christianity is split into many distinct denominations and there's a great chance whatever one will pick won't be "kosher" for the OP. ShadowDestroyerOfTime
If you are talking to me, then name me one mod that fits the following criteria:1) Was made due to recommendation.2) Is not lore friendly.3) Is not a type of mod that would be popular.4) Is a mod that took a long time to make.5) That wasn't even a great idea to use for a mod. I doubt you will find a single one that actually meets those 5 criteria. Edited February 18, 2016 by ShadowDestroyerOfTime

This fits none of that. Just dealing with the first part of what you said there about how it would require quite a bit of time, IMO it would not be a particularly difficult mod to make as long as you kept it simple. The basis for it is already there with Talos, so you replace all written references to Talos with Jesus and you replace the statutes of Talos with statutes of Jesus on a cross. As for the voiced dialog you use your imagination and pretend Talos is the Nord name for Jesus. There are already similarities between the two, both born men and believed to be gods, The Daedric Princes are not dissimilar to the Greek pantheon of Gods, and the banning of Talos worship fits in with the persecution of early Christians. For people who wanted Christianity in Skyrim this would probably be enough for them, and as for the rest of the Talos lore they would just choose to ignore it. If you are talking to me, then name me one mod that fits the following criteria:1) Was made due to recommendation.2) Is not lore friendly.3) Is not a type of mod that would be popular.4) Is a mod that took a long time to make.5) That wasn't even a great idea to use for a mod. I doubt you will find a single one that actually meets those 5 criteria.I made a mod for Oblivion that meets all 5 of your conditions 1 - it was made because someone requested it in the forms.2 - it was not lore friendly.3 - I didn’t care if it would be popular, I did it for the challenge of doing it.4 - It took a lot of time and effort on my part because back then I didn’t have the skills, I was still learning how to do things.5 - whether it was a good idea was debatable. It didn’t fit in with Oblivion and I never personally used it in my own game. The Cheerleader A lot of people around here have some wrong ideas about mod authors. Mod authors do a lot of crazy things for all kinds of different reasons. We don’t all see things the same way or think the same way. If we did then there would only ever be one mod made instead of thousands. For the record I’m not a Christian and I don’t care much for organised religion. I think it does a lot of harm in this world, but I find it amusing that in a game where we have chainmail bikinis, animated prostitution, rape, anatomically correct horses and OMFG anime and pink ponies, yet there is such resistance to adding a religion.
