djmystro
I would recommend more instumentals myself. If the lyrics are most likely to be the inflammatory part of the song for whatever reason I figure more artists would make 'safe' instrumentals. The existing Fallout sound tracks seem to support this notion to a certain degree. Though as for what I'm not fussy. It would be a definate buzz to run around to some quality punk & metal. Persanlly I would like to hear some stufflike AFX Twin, Squarepusher, Mu-Zig, Venetian Snares (220bpm Breakbeat in a 7/8 beat structure anyone?). Even going as far as the ultra-talented Hardcore producers such as Hellfish, The DJ Producer, and The Outside Agency (specific abstact tracks that fit the games tone - not the stuff full of Hip Hop samples).Aphex Twin in particular would be perfect coz he has loads of tunes made from sounds from electronic equipment/synths he has built himself (so very experimental and unusual stuff). Here's a few examples of the type of stuff I would have liked to include (electronica examples only since I have not listened to much rock since about 2005 and you all seem to have that covered): Squarepusher - Theme From Ernest BorgnineSquarepusher - UFO's Over LeytonstoneAphex Twin - Girl/Boy SayAphex Twin - 4Mu-Zig - MeinheldVenetian Snares - Plunging HornetsVenetian Snares - SwindonVenetian Snares & Speedranch - Viva Las Vegas Nine Inch Nails - At The Heart of It All (Aphex Twin Mix)The Outside Agency - The Last StorytellerThe Outside Agency - NostromoThe Outside Agency - Waste ManagementDj Producer - Doomsday MechaniksDj Producer - History LessonHellfish - Serious Evil S*** Mission 3Hellfish - All My Friends Are Dead If you like the stuff I make (or Roach, if you like) then I can highly recommend all these tracks, apart from maybe Viva Las Vegas (it's just screaming and noise) which I just threw in coz it felt relevant. Speaking of which, Las Vegas + The Kings + 50's should = Elvis's original Viva Las Vegas somewhere on the soundtrack surely? Too much royaly money perhaps? Also if you wanted to introduce the style from a more lore friendly perspective you could add some 70's/early 80's Detriot style techo or maybe some German stuff (but that stuffs too minimalist for my tastes). minngarm
I can see things going as far as bob marley music wise, not sure about the rap though, as were not only talking about a political change, but as history shows, every political change is driven and maintained by social change, in this case civic duty and national pride. As for Mexico, its talked of baja cali being a front occupying the elite of the NCR, so I dont think its legion territory. You should try to get a horse mod inplemented to mount the khans, would make them more true to their lore. Good luck piecing it all together! lordinquisitor
While this is primarily about music what about other aspects of american life in the 1950s and before and their inflenece on life in the fallout dimension. The Margarine Act for example in 1950 got rid of restrictive antimargarine laws in most of the country. susch as restriction on colouring the Margarine. some states kept their restriction for years after though. "In California, for example, public eating places wishing to serve margarine had to post a special notice to this effect, could not serve yellow margarine unless the patron "required" it, and in any case had to pay a yearly $2 licensing fee to do this" this still in 1970. "In 1944 uncolored margarine came to be packaged in the Peters* bag, which considerably expedited the job of coloring the product. Countless people experienced the bizarre American ritual of popping the tiny plastic capsule of oil-soluble orange food color inside the sturdy plastic bag, kneading the bag for about 5 minutes to work the color into the white milk-and-fat emulsion, then clipping a corner off the bag and squeezing out the yellow margarine. Most of these people probably became opponents of the antimargarine laws. " apparently its still illegal today in canada to sell yellow margarine. this sort of thing could still have applied to the 1950s of fallout earth with the Dairy lobbists not giving in to the views of citizens to lift the restrictions. Anyone else know of similiar stuff from that time. -------------* Leo Peters, originator of the “Pak” margarine package, made out of plastic and containing a capsule for coloring. he began collecting royalties estimated at $1,000,000 a year, mostly during the period of the restrictions.
