Seattleite
A quick, new note:If anybody has played my Fallout 3 mod, you might remember that alcohol provided radiation resistance. Well, I forgot to mention that yes, I'm bringing that back. It'll also provide poison resistance. It won't be very much, but it'll be something. Alcohol won't actually be much like it used to be in my older mods OR vanilla, I'm going to complete rework it and the Party Boy/Girl perks to the point where they won't much resemble their original functionality. You definitely won't be chugging booze to carry things anymore. All alcohol will have the following effects:+Damage, energy, radiation and poison resistance-Health (Damage, minor)-Action points (Damage, major)-Accuracy, recoil control-Intelligence, perception, endurance and agility-Bleed resistance Party Boy/Girl 1:You're not an alcoholic... The world just sucks less when you're drunk. +2 luck whenever under the influence of alcohol. Does not stack. Party Boy/Girl 2:All alcohols provide an extra, small benefit dependent on type. These never stack. Occasionally, this will be the absence of a negative effect.Party Boy/Girl 3:No endurance or perception penalty from drinking. Party Boy/Girl 4:No agility penalty or AP damage from drinking.Party Boy/Girl 5:No accuracy or recoil penalty from drinking. Other than magnitude and the effects of Party Boy/Girl 2, different alcohols have identical effects. Liquor will all appear in massive quantities, and have its weight and value reduced massively. This is to represent it now being consumed one shot at a time instead of whole bottles at a time. Kinda like how the game says you're carrying 600 microfusion cells and if you drop them one at a time you get whole microfusion cells dropped, but they actually are meant to represent individual charges of your microfusion cells, not the whole cells. Wine is not increased like this, but you can totally drink wine by the bottle. (Well, at least I can. Not red wine so much, but that's a taste thing.) A whole bottle of merlot is... Rather a lot of alcohol, and one bottle will get you VERY drunk. Save it for when you need it. Beer also appears in larger amounts, but that's just because beer is stupidly common. (If we could get a retexture of "Beer" brand beer to a bland name product of some brand of American piss, that'd be great. Maybe "Swiller", or "Dudweiser"?) As we're days, weeks at the most, from the release of the GECK it's time to look back over the mod and see if there's any revisions to make before work actually starts. EDIT:I am considering adding in environmental cold damage and an environmental AP regeneration penalty. vTemporalZEROv
Its funny, most, if not all of this stuff is in my mod, AAA, not trying to advertise by any means but it is just funny, but yes I totally agree the way Beth set up FO4 is appalling.. I hate the path they took, they made it an FPS but made it even more RPG-like that any past Fallout game -____- Try checking out my mod on the Nexus for a start or to learn from if you are interested, maybe we can learn from each other cause I am definitely changing the way FO4 is when the CK comes out. JuJooGuppy
A lot of these ideas are what I am looking to do for my own usage heh (If I can, not super experienced. Scripting will be the biggest issue for me, personally.) Also checking out your mod, Temporal. If nothing else, itll give a good foundation for making my own tweaks (for personal use) and give me an idea of where to start. No, no, SOME of it is. And so is some extremely ridiculous stuff like attacks magically not hurting you until you're out of AP.
Boombro
How about herbal remedies? Teas and powders I mean?
Seattleite
You mean, like the healing powder of previous games? I can see to that. Maybe healing powder would provide 10% health and limb condition (base), over 100 seconds, with the drink and poultice being stronger? I can also see to actual tea and coffee, and you bet your ass I'll be putting those in. Coffee being produced in bulk from coffee tins and different kinds of teas from the edible flowers and plants, with different effects. (Blood tea from bloodleaf, glowing kombucha from glowing fungus, psycho tea from hubflower and flower teas made from a mixture of gourd, melon, carrot and tato flowers.) zanity
I honestly think you fundamentally MISS the whole problem Fallout 4 has- and like the 'survival' mod from Beth, think that making the game 'harder' or more annoying will somehow fix things. It won't. What FO4 really needs is a world-building over-haul- changing, moving, and providing interaction with all factions, for instance. Regions re-purposed, shuttered buildings given interiors, and then linked to actual missions. In other words, bash the game into a semblance of Skyrim or FO:NV. Add real role-playing to the world. Only then would worrying about things like gun/drug/food/perk balance matter. I know the effort of the over-haul I describe will be beyond the modding community- since it would involve an impossible level of co-operation between differing modding groups. The best we can hope for is the same kind of piecemeal improvement that Fallout 3 saw (like DC Interiors, and the added dungeon mods). Sadly, Fallout 4 is conceptually broke (by design) and will remain thus. Myself, I look forward to mods that actually reward searching through every nook and cranny with UNIQUE loot, or unique messages, visuals etc is as many places as possible. Mods that massively increase the number of bad guys in dungeons, and their AI behaviour. And eventually something like iNPC for Skyrim. But making the vanilla game harder or more troublesome is surely like putting lipstick on a pig. I really don't see how in this game it can increase the fun of the experience. But when it is possible to make the bad guys more 'sophisticated', smarter, more numerous, etc, and the player is given 'abilities' to counter this- well that's a different picture altogether. Good look with your mod- I am hopeful that one day people will find away to make Fallout 4 the game it should have been from the start.
Seattleite
That is completely off-topic and asinine, you don't understand what I'm doing here and likely didn't read it, and aren't the target demographic so I frankly don't care what you have to say. Go away.
