Henarhak
About the dying part of this game, I think it would be more immersive if you didn't die as often. Now I'm all for games being challenging, but I also hate dying. It shatters immersion and if you haven't quicksaved recently, It's a real pain. I think that there should be a chance for the character to go down, critically injured and unconscious. Then you could either wake up in the same spot a few hours later, presumed dead and abandoned by your enemies. Or, like with the frostfall mod for skyrim, there would be a chance that a friendly wanderer finds and saves you. You would wake up in a nearby settlement. Or maybe your companion was able to drag you out of combat and to safety. I think this would be cool. And I'm not saying that your character should be totally unkillable, if a bottlecap mine goes off in your unarmored face, your dead. But there could be a chance to become unconscious if your health drops to 0 +/- like 10 or something. I don't know, but then even if you go down, you would still be like "oh no, am I dead?" and there would still be hope that your character survived. And maybe you could finish the game without having died a hundred times. More like 50..
AtmaDarkwolf
if it helps, think that when you 'die' your characters superpower triggers, and reverses time a few minutes to your last 'save' Then you never die even once to finish the game! Problem solved!
Henarhak
Not a big fan of superpowers though. Another thing that could be cool, if you're left for dead by raiders for example, they would loot your body. You wake up with almost nothing, and would have to kill the raiders to get your stuff back.
kahvipannu84
Mods exactly like that existed for Skyrim, alternative deaths. I guess once the mod-tools come out, people can eventually script similar things in game.
MLeonhardt
I think it would be more immersive if you didn't die as often. >Get "knocked out" by a Deathclaw>It leaves its prey sitting there without eating it >Get blown up by Mini Nuke>Totally ok a few hours later >Shredded to bits by a Super Mutant's Minigun>Lol I'm totally fine thanks for patching me up Doc You do not know what immersion is. Henarhak
Mods exactly like that existed for Skyrim, alternative deaths. I guess once the mod-tools come out, people can eventually script similar things in game. I never knew this mod existed for skyrim. Cool, hoping to see the same for fallout. If you read the first post, I said that you shouldn't be unkillable. I am talking about scenarios where you had minimal health left, and a raider finished you off with a pipe pistol shot to a limb, or maybe a melee attack for example. That's why I suggested this would happen only if your health dropped to 0 +/- 10. If you get shredded by a minigun or you sit on a mini nuke, your health would have been like -100, and no chance of survival. And besides if the mini nuke didn't go off right next to you but at some distance, and you are wearing a good suit of power armor I would say that it's reasonable that this could knock you out without killing you. And predators actually do sometimes kill prey without eating it for different reasons in the wild. There being only two options, completely fine or stone cold dead is kind of missing something in my opinion. If this was ever to become a mod the player would probably be able to choose for himself the likelihood of survival, from 1% (probably never gonna happen) to 100% (you will never die if you aren't killed by a large margin). So the realism of it would be up to the player to decide.

Henarhak
here being only two options, completely fine or stone cold dead is kind of missing something in my opinion. What are>Crippled limbs>Diseases>Bleeding>Radiation poisoning >Completely fine True, but nothing that isn't quickly fixed with stimpaks and such. You can't get injured to the point where you need help. Getting crippled for example is never a problem (but that's a different mod). I don't see why you have such a problem with the idea of being left unconscious for a period of time before dying, during which someone can help you. It's perfectly normal, and probably more common than getting instantly killed in the real world. That's the part that is missing from the game. And again I'm not talking about nukes to the face or decapitation by miniguns. Edited February 27, 2016 by Henarhak
