Can Some Fallout 4 Meshes be Replaced by Fallout 3/ NV Meshes?

No it just creates custom .bgsm files that can use your textures or even vanilla textures.

 

the Projectile fx is mostly done with .nif files. you'll have to look at the vanilla projectiles and there explosions. I edited the "Artillery smoke Grenade" to have Red smoke by adding a texture and a new color gradient to the mesh. The flatware explosion was more complicated but I just replaced blocks in the Bottlecap mine explosion with forks and spoons.

Kind of ironic to not be able to import files from old bethesda games yet people can replace radio stations with music from other games or tv shows... Right........

that's how it is It suck but we can't do anything about it.

it's fast and dirty and still needs collision work.

 

Thats good enough, I would just need the dds too so I can make it look like undead bait. I am still new to assigning dds with meshes in the fo4edit program, some items don't show me where I can enter the file paths. Especially molotov cocktails.

 

nifscope won't open the file, also how would I be able to create a dds to fit exactly how I want it on the mesh?

Are you using nifscope 2.0? and I hate to ask but you did unpack the .zip? Because Nifscope opens it for me.

 

for the DDS use photoshop or Gimp they both have .dds plugins. Open the original texture and edit it like any other image. save it with DXT5 compression and Generate Mipmaps.

your sure your using Nifscope 2.0?

 

the NV bottles are in Meshes/clutter/Liquorbottles

 

the FO4 bottles are in Meshes/Setdressing/PlayerhouseClutterClean.

yeah 2,0. I was just trying to figure out if the dds files will match the bottle u gave me, like so all i would have to do is just change the colors and paste a custom label over them. idk how to make one from scratch and make the colors fit in each area.

tested what I sent and something odd happened.

 

Try this

 

Whiskey bottle

It worked! but oddly instead of detecting the molotov texture, its using a texture for a different mod I created which is a consumable whiskey bottle from the clutter folder, molotov dds is in the weapons folder.. And when I throw this bottle it shows the vodka bottle with its own vodka label. I might as well start over and learn everything from scratch because no matter what I do, its 1 thing or another that goes wrong. Every error that can be made, happens in consecutive order before I get anything right, even when I follow directions.
