Nifskope doesnt display textures for me :(

Hi :smile:

 

So sorry to trouble you guys, but would any1 happen to know why textures wont render in nifskope when I toggle them on?

(i asked my friend in my workplace and he does not know either) everything is invisible when I do so, but when I toggle them off it shows the white mesh just fine.http://puu.sh/nnQmk/a3756c5dd6.png

Then your texture folder is not in the same place as the meshes folder.

 

Place the texture folder in the same place as the meshes folder and it would show.

you mean consolidate them under fallout4\data ? its already in data hahahttp://puu.sh/nnRn4/42cd01c9ea.png

It looks like an issue with how the .nif is setup.

When you're missing textures links in nifskope it defaults to white, not invisible.

Id try removing the NiAlphaProperty and checking your .bgsm.

Or leave the NiAlphaProperty and check "Show Hidden" (the eye with red line threw it)

I have alpha applied because im trying to get only the kevlar vest to be displayed on this armor port. I am following the dragbody's guide for making new items using alphas. But when I just download nifskope, right off the bat it doesnt show any textures unlike the pictures in his tutorials. I disabled alpha and still nothing no textures haha.

 

 

 

However with vanilla assets there are no problem with textures for some reason they work now...o.o

Your .bgsm will override anything in the textureset, so thats where id look next. Also maybe hit show hidden (next to block list at the top).

 

Edit: If you cant get textures to show on vanilla items, start back at the beginning with how you have your files setup and references to them in nifskopes options.

hmm only some vanilla textures display now i just checked some of them randomly.. what am i suipposed to look out for in a bgsm file that does gives this problem? (forgive me im noob haha) do i delete it or something?

 

edit: ok i have no fking clue what just happened i was so fed up i slammed my hand on the keyboard and suddenly adter i reloaded the file the texture displays lol....AHHHH T.T wdvr. thx for the help. If s#*! happens again i wont bother you anymore. Sorry for the trouble. Ill just give up and wait five years to play with good mods like i did with new vegas lolololo.

The .bgsm file contains links to the textures to use for the model, as well as other info. If its links to your textures are wrong, then you wont get much.

You could remove it from the txt in the LighingShaderProperty and then it would default to the texture set instead for now.

 

Edit: I see you hit show hidden finally :laugh:

But if you want, upload the .nif and i'll take a quick look.
