Jeoshua
It's recently come to my attention that there is at least one file out there, James Invisible Wall Bugs Remover, that causes major problems when masterupdated. So my question is, are there any other popular or unpopular files that you all know about, that shouldn't be masterupdated? And if so which ones? I'd like to avoid any problems in the future. So far its: Raven Rock Forever- Masterupdating it places the rocks back over the entrance blocking you from entering.Megaton Tweaks- Sniper EditionAttenator's Wasteland EconomyJames Invisible Wall Bugs RemoverMerged files from FO3EditBashed patches from Wrye Flash Edited May 26, 2011 by Jeoshua
Jeoshua
So... nothing? Are those the only ones that need special attention?
GrindedStone
Anything that doesn't should be a red flag that there is something wrong with the .esp .esm Which should tell you that you shouldn't be using it.Bashed Patch, Merge Patch, Files merged with FO3 edit, these are all the same thing, an there's nothing wrong with master updating them. It states in the FO3 description that files which cause an error can mostly be fixed by opening that mod in the GECK with it set to active. This should prompt you to autofix the mod, however if it doesn't then you have to either fix the mod yourself, or ask the creator of the mod to fix it.That being said the original creator probably doesn't know what they are doing, hence the error in the first place, so maybe it's more up to you. There's no telling what you might find, however, cleaning a mod does wonders, just like opening it with GECK does, these are both two really easy methods which you need to learnz anyway. So most cases it's easy to fix, that or you can just not use that "low quality" mod. Mainly because there's simply nothing to be fixed about it. And he definitely does know what he's doing. As for the why, well you'll have to ask the author himself. (although he already explained it on his description page too) Aside from that one, I don't know of any other esp that gives you problems if you masterupdate it. bethjunkie
Raven Rock Forever- Masterupdating it places the rocks back over the entrance blocking you from entering.Megaton Tweaks- Sniper Edition In my own experience, I can't masterupdate RR Companions Vault Refurbished. I CTD every time I try to enter the vault cell. If I leave it out of the process, it works as it should.
