DarthWayne
Edit: You can download it here:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10603/? ------------------------------------ OK, so I am working on a mod that lets you build a vault. And I am not talking about some craftable vault floors/walls/etc for your settlements. I am talking about a real "underground" vault in its own interior cell. Basically it works like this: You craft the exterior entrance and place it somewhere in your settlement and then you can enter the premade entrance room of the vault. Each settlement will have its own vault (well, maybe not all settlements...). The current state of this project is that I resolved the biggest technical problems like the crafting of the door. So you can already enter the vault and also exit it again. However the biggest part of the work is still ahead: The vanilla vault meshes are mostly very small and therefor not really usable in workshop mode, especially if you never worked with the CK/GECK. So I am currently combining meshes and adding snap points to them. My plan is to add several snapping prefab meshes for:large hallways (done)small hallways (done)rooms (that will cost time...)elevators (optional)I am not quite sure how I am going to handle the rooms. Basically there are two possibilities: Closed complete prefab rooms on the one hand or larger room parts that can be combined in workshop mode. Maybe I will add a few of both. Then an "immersive" vault will also need some infrastructure, meaning generators, water, etc. I am thinking of making some prefab rooms like this Fallout mobile game has. Here are some screenshots of the current state: So what would you prefer? More large prefabs that can be combined to a vault quick and easy or smaller pieces that take more time (and probably tears) but enable more unique results? To cover some questions in advance:The vault is not navmeshed and won't be until CK release.NPC will not be able to use the crafted vault door. I am not even sure if I can resolve this with CK. But it should be possible to teleport at least the current follower into the vault with the player.Neither the gear door in the picture nor the elevator load door are animated. I might add that when the important stuff is done though.I hope I have a playable beta version done by the end of this weak, but I can't promise. However I will release this mod as soon as it is stable and you can at least build a simple vault with it. mm137
I want to say go with the smaller pieces, but logistically it might be a nightmare to actually use. The engine is so wonky already regarding snapping. On the other hand, I always think flexibility is better. I'm excited to see this in action either way. I'm sure I am not alone in wanting this since the beginning.
MLeonhardt
Why not have both?Have individual wall pieces, then prefab rooms/halls in the "Prefabs" section.
DarthWayne
The small hallways are finished. I had to edit some 3d models, so I could make proper looking crossings and corners, but here is the result:
Mavkiel
I'd go for large prefabs. Proof of concept showing that it works. Idea being that once a working system is out, many folks latch onto the idea and add in their own pieces. Besides, taking up lots of room is a fun challenge. Terracotta army of power armor anyone? :-) edit: Oh and those models look really neat. Edited March 1, 2016 by Mavkiel

I think I will just make the basic system running with the hallways and a limited set of prefab rooms and small room pieces. Afterwards I let the community add the stuff they like to it and focus on making a craftable bunker with some completely new assets (I love that heavy door in this pyramid bunker :D ). DarthWayne
Just got the entrance ready. It is 3x3 floors large and has the floor snap nodes on each side. I also finished the basic meshes for the large and small rooms. Only got the prefabs left on my list now. I will leave the elevator for later. Guess the mod will be ready for a first release this weekend. Edited March 3, 2016 by DarthWayne
