WinterRanger97
The Nellis Boneyard Hello everyone. For a while now, I have been tossing around the idea of making a new world space. The mod takes place in the former Nellis Testing Range, as well as parts of western Nevada and California. Background: The Nellis Boneyard has always been a sought after region. Before the war, it was the largest military testing ground in the country, and contained enough fire power to destroy any nation that stood in its owner’s way. When the Great War occurred, the land was left desolate. The bases stopped bustling with activity, the bombs stopped detonating in the desert. The few who remained soon drifted off, hoping to etch out a living in the new world. When the Desert Rangers rose to prominence, they left the Boneyard be. Too many of America’s dark secrets lay there. When the war with Caesar’s Legion began to go badly, the Rangers returned, hoping to find a means of destroying their enemy. They failed. The tribes in the region destroyed their scouts, burned supply lines, and made a campaign in the region too costly. The Desert Rangers were soon absorbed into the NCR. Thus, the cycle began again. NCR troopers and rangers began moving into the region. They were drawn to the Old World relics. They established bases, incorporated towns, secured roadways, their eyes permanently fixed on the region. When the Divide was ripped apart by nuclear fire, the NCR forces in the Boneyard were cut off. They could no longer receive support directly from California. They had to survive without the Republic. Then the Legion came. The war in the Mojave has ground to a stalemate, and Caesar is looking to break the deadlock. If he can flank the NCR, he can destroy them. Vegas would be his for the taking. Not only that, but the Yard Walkers, a tribe in the Boneyard, would like nothing better than to be integrated into the Legion. The Courier’s entrance will tip the scales. Blood will be spilled, and the secrets of the Old World will be brought to life. Gameplay: The Courier will travel north, into the Nellis Test Range. Within, they will find new factions, the NCR and Legion conflict’s spill over, and the lost remnants of a bygone era.The player is free to roam a wasteland that is roughly the size of the Mojave wasteland. They will fight new monsters, explore deserted military installations, and meet new companions. The fabled Area 51, Area 2, and numerous other locations, mentioned in Fallout New Vegas, will now be fully explored. Multiple side quests, as well as a complex main story await. There are no black and white choices, no good or bad guys. Everyone has spilled blood, and, before your journey is done, the sands will run with it. Finally, my call for help: While I have done a decent amount of work already, including laying out the world space, making factions, etc., I do need help. Specifically, I need the following:Modelers (Armor, Weapons, etc.)Texture Artists (It would be a plus if you could make nice looking world maps for the pip-boy)People experienced in making world spaces (Roads, LOD generation, etc.)Scripters (Mostly for quests)Script Advisers (This would just be making yourself available if I have a question. Preferably you would be able to respond within a day)Play Testers (These would not be needed until later)If you are interested, please contact me. Note: I am a college student, so it may take me a couple of days to reply. However, I will be posting screenshots of my work within a few days. If you want to wait until then, that would be fine. Also, I do have a design document written. If you decide to help, I will be sure to send you a copy. WinterRanger97
Yo, I am not one of the fellas you requested to help you, but I was wondering if you could consider making a version of the mod that doesnt need all DLCs?,I've no means of getting the DLCs and your description of the Boneyard sounds too awesome to be not able to play it...please/thanks :]I know that you posted this back in May, sorry it took so long to respond. College and stuff. Anyways, this will only require Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts. Unfortunately, while I may be able to remove these requirements at some point after the initial release, they both contain models I need. We'll see. I hate to see people not able to play my mods because of DLC requirements, but sometimes they are necessary things. Sorry.
magmameister
I'd be happy to help with playtesting when the time comes! I have all the DLCs so it's all good. It sounds really interesting though from what I've read!
