MidbossVyers
From what I learned here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/384816-deadly-reflex-causing-crashes/page__st__10 In order to solve my Deadly Reflex breaking saves problem, I need to get Wrye Bash up and running. So I used the automatic installers for Wrye Bash and Wrye Python, but Wrye Bash still wouldn't work. Then I double-checked the Wrye Bash installation requirements. It seems I need wxPython 2.8.22.0-ansi, Python Comtypes 0.6.2, and Python Extensions for Windows (PyWin32) 214. The Wrye Python automatic installer only had wxPython 2.8.7.1 (GUI) and Python Comtypes 0.5.2 How can I get what I need? Of course, if my Deadly Reflex ravaged saves can be recovered in some other way, this would be moot. Tell me. Faivon
I'm sorry I'm unable to provide links as I'm about to leave but those are pretty easy to get. Just google around with the exact name and you'll get them. They're free, anyhow. Oh, make sure they're exactly as the installer wanted! Including the version. The installer also doesn't want newer version of any of the components.
MidbossVyers
Yeah, I can find general ones fairly easily, but it's hard for me to get the exact version.
MichikoUnknownFox
Yeah that's one of the problems about how Wrye Bash is written... Why does it need the exact version of every component? I remember before, I got Python 2.6 (for a different program) but Wrye Bash wanted 2.5, so wouldn't work with 2.6. D:
MidbossVyers
And there's no other way to solve my issue at hand, mentioned in the other thread?
MichikoUnknownFox
You could try the stand-alone version (in the Files tab of Wrye Bash on TESNexus). It's in beta and is somewhat buggy. But I use it. It comes with everything you need to run it. I'm not sure if it's missing any features from regular Wrye Bash 291, but it is buggy. Did I mention buggy? But it should allow you to merge patches and build a bashed patch, which is enough for what you seem to need to be doing. I find that it gets less errors when you don't multi-task while it's rebuilding the patch. They seem to be mostly display errors, but I don't know if it will have a negative effect on the end result of the bashed patch. MidbossVyers
Should I uninstall the other version of Python that doesn't work for me as of yet?
MichikoUnknownFox
You should also try downloading the Wrye Python 03a pack first, before trying the standalone version. I downloaded and verified that it actually has all of the prerequisite files for Wrye Bash to work. I'm now using it (as in right now, the Wrye Bash window is minimized so I can reply here lol). The 03a pack will install the necessary compatible prerequisites, and you still need the Wrye Bash main files, which you already have. If, for whatever reason, that still doesn't work, the standalone version is your best bet. You won't need to uninstall Wrye Bash for Python to install the standalone (they use different system files anyway), but you can if you want to. MidbossVyers
I wonder how many versions of this I need to get before it actually works... And then I'd have to get it to do what I want it to.Edit: Because I managed to get Wrye Bash working, further discussion on how to get my saves working will continue here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/384816-deadly-reflex-causing-crashes/page__st__10 Edited May 28, 2011 by MidbossVyers
