Why Already Trying to Make Mods?

The GECK comes out next month, but I already see people trying to work on really complicated quest and content mods. Sure, they CAN do it, but would it not be WAY better for them and their downloaders if they waited until the GECK came out? It would make the process easier, and the end result much better quality.

When your passionate about something, waiting a day seems like a year. I make mods because im passionate about it and am not going to wait for bethesda to release the GECK. Its not too much harder to make a mod without it (depending on what your trying to change/add)

I'm passionate about it too, but even the mods I have planned I've only done what's feasible so far - asset preparation - to ensure that my mods will be the best quality they can be, using the tool that offers the most functionality - the very tool they used to make the game.

Well look at it from a users point of view. Some people want more content than vanilla fo4 has to offer and they don't want to wait for the GECK or for DLCs. Whats the harm in releasing a mod made with unofficial tools and then updating them when the GECK comes out?

I don't understand.

Bethesda doesn't use the Creation Kit to make their games. That's a tool they make for end users.

No, you're wrong. The Creation Kit is their internal content creation tool. It's not how they program the engine, and large swathes of the game are hard-coded, but it is how they make landscapes, quests, dialogue, how they implement armour and weapons...
