Do you have any friends?

Defining a friend: someone you at least sometimes spend time with and you know many things about him/her in real life not just name, birthday and where he/she was in school.

Not a friend: someone you allow to come to your home and you know his name. You may have met them once or twice in somewhere and maybe had some "small talk".

I have one (1). How many do you have? Remember that I'm not your friend, buddy.

Interesting topic I've stumbled across...let's see, I'd probably say...about (5). But we restrict the definition of a 'friend' further into: "Someone whom you feel you have mutual trust", then I'd say none.

I have no idea why I'm replying to this, to be honest, but it might develop in an interesting way.

I have a life outside of gaming, so yeah.

Are you...implying something?

I already have, I have a life outside gaming... like everyone else on nexus.

Gotta point out, just because one has a life doesn't automatically mean one has 'friends'. Such lonely souls do exist

Edit: Obviously not including myself.

To have a friend you must first be a friend. That is a quote from somewhere.

If you are not willing to stand up and take a beating for someone, then you are not a true friend.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, A true friend is probably sitting beside you in the cell. While at the same time your real friends are pooling what little money they have to bail you out. (Yup, been there, done that. and 50 years later we still laugh about how dumb we were. )

Yes, I do have friends. The best kind, those I know will stand by me just as they know I will stand by them. I don't see them often, sometimes just once a year. But I do know that if I need them they will be there.

Since the Internet is always there for me, just like the occasional dream of having perfect parents, always there to answer life's questions.

Yeah!

We all have got billions of friends.

And if we all would start using our head, instead of our hands to, just, cheer our lonely lives up by massaging the last place we think about when family is on our minds, we might actually give the people of Earths future a better life.

Master the Keyboard and the civilized, social, and decency Sciences!

If the people who use computer continue to use them to massage their minds so they don't feel the squeeze of billions of lives searching for the answers to all life's questions we are going to disappear just like the last highly civilized cities and societies and small mobs of anarchists are going to rule more neighborhoods all over the world again.

As to life outdoors? Hmm? Do the families of Raccoon cutting through my yard out running coyotes that are shuffling around among starving deer, while the grizzly bears, black and brown bears, hustle around looking for greener grass and a few remaining Huckleberries, now that Winter is almost over, just to mention a few of the ones I've photographed, count as friends in your thinking?

Because of the wild animals passing by, I find living in a run down house in among the rotting corpses of houses in an old Smelter Town is more exciting compared to when I was living in the dusty and dirty city of small business owners across the river to the south.

The land around the Smelter town is bordered to the north by open fields, where, crops failed again last year because of the drought. Because several farms used up a great deal of the 3 reservoirs water north of us, Wildlife keeps moving in closer and closer to get to the river where they can find stinking water that is slowly becoming worse every year that we don't get any new heavy snowfall in the mountains or on the plains.

I'm sure I will be making new friends too; real soon. That is if the drought doesn't change course soon I'm sure I'll find out who among the neighbors qualifies as a real friend eventually.

Would you like to be my friend? Human?!
