Boombro
I agree. A new land mod or a quest mod needs a lot of freaking work and time. You can't expect a new one to pop every month and so. However, it a lie to say that TES6 would slow it down greatly.
Moksha8088
Excellent point Boombro, Quest and New Land mods are what keep Skyrim fresh and some of the superlative companion mods make it even more enjoyable to play. Mods with the magnitude of Interesting NPCs do not come along that often, but my guess is that several well-crafted quest and new land mods will be released in 2016 and older ones will be updated. TheFoxQueen
As others have said before, Skyrim modding can never be 'dead' because as of now people are still modding for Morrowind, Oblivion and other older games. It is however true it may slow down once the Fallout 4 creation kit comes out, and it will surely slow down when TES6 comes out.But truly ever come to a complete halt? No.Quest and new worlds mods take time, and most of them come out unexpectedly. Just because in one month various quest mods came out doesn't mean this will happen every month. You can't expect a great, big new mod to come out everyday. There's one project of a new world I currently know about, since the release of Skyrim, various modders have been working on a big project called 'Beyond Skyrim' of which its goal is to bring a big part of Tamriel in the game Skyrim. Sure, the chance is probably little they will ever be able to complete this project, but they're making great progress, and this year they will maybe release a teaser. woodsman30
I also think people may not know that some companions/followers mods have huge stories and many quests, dungeons, lands ect.. and of course many hours of game play. Some new cities I seen look real promising and in 2015 we had some huge mods that added new land and places. So is it dying.. my final answer not in the foreseeable future lots of mods being developed and are still very active.

That is why if players have never tried Interesting NPCs (biggest addition), Helgen Reborn, Falskaar, Wymstooth, or Grey Cowl of Nocturnal, then you owe it to yourself to get with the program and download these mods. You will be glad you did. As far as companions with big story lines as you mentioned, Vilja and Anduniel certainly spring to mind. Have never tried Rigmor of Bruma, but I understand that is a companion with a large number of quests as well.

I did the Rigmor of Bruma and all I can say is WOW it is an epic story line well worth doing it is best if enjoyed not rushed through Rigmor has a lot of dialog some are place oriented. Never made it through all of Vilja cant seem to keep my game going always want to restart as new mods come out lol.

If you ever decide to finish Vilja, make sure you get the mod character Inigo as well. They are interactive. The author of Inigo is continuing his story arc which will be complete with Inigo 3.0. That will give Inigo a lot of quests which he and Vilja can complete, along with the Dovahkiin. They have a lot to say: Vilja has over 9000 lines of dialogue and Inigo adds several thousands of his own. BTW, I should have added Death Mountain to the mods above. That is one mod greatly deserving of gameplay. Edited March 21, 2016 by Moksha8088
simtam
Is it dying? No, but I'm slightly concerned about auxiliary endeavors - just noticed that http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/QuestList/Skyrim:About was not updated for a long time.
