That is way too much work when simply correcting their load order and/or deleting a .swf file will fix the problem for them.

I'm referring to .esp and .esm files. There are no .swf files in my PC version. Edited March 11, 2016 by Sandcrab2000

Modded Workshop.swf file and Workshopmenu.swf files can cause CTDs with 1.4. It is nice that you are trying to help, but you are actually giving some uninformed advice. You really should read Wax2k's guide to understand some of the workshp issues a little better.

You really should read Wax2k's guide to understand some of the workshp issues a little better. 1) The thread you linked is about useless if you are not using a workshop.wsf or workshopmenu.swf in the interface folder. Does anyone even use these anymore?2) Go look up 'sarcasm' in the dictionary.3) What do you consider "uninformed advice"? Anything that is not coming from you? Every item I covered in the linked post is relevant and spot on for troubleshooting CTD issues.Every Item in the linked post are items I have troubleshot on my game, and friends games.Every Item I talked about in the link I posted is talked about in these forums and elsewhere. You jumped upon deleting and reinstalling, as noted in the post, this is the last resort.I challenge you to point out one item I mentioned in the linked post that is incorrect in context.I am a Fallout 4 player. I am a Fallout 4 mod user. I am a Fallout 4 mod creator. I do not publish my mods here because I use others work and modify it for my own use. I will never take credit for others work.My modding has led to combining several hundred mods to overcome the FormID and Keyword limitations and has become an art. Every one of the issues I touched upon is a common problem modders run into when creating and editing mods. Here is the link I posted for troubleshooting CTD issues. Please try re-reading.http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3891290-ctds-since-14-update/?p=35480305 Sandcrab
mac2636
None of it is my advice. It is advice from major mod authors and testers that are trusted by mod authors. I never said you're instructions were incorrect, but you do sugged many people perform unnecessary steps, and you don't even cover correct load order or getting around the keyword limit. Wax's guide covers just about every detail needed. There's not need to get defensive and be such an a$$.
Sandcrab2000
"I never said you're instructions were incorrect," So what does this mean? "but you are actually giving some uninformed advice."And then you say this;"you don't even cover correct load order or getting around the keyword limit"Based on my experience, load order and keyword limits very rarely, if ever, cause CTD. Now, you tell me who is "Uninformed"? Most, if not the vast majority of CTDs are caused by the interaction, or lack thereof, of mods and required files, specifically in the workshop menus. Many people who actually play the game try out new mods all the time, installing and uninstalling those same mods. Many people try out new loaders and .ini editors to see if they are better or worse than what they are using. Many of those same loaders and .ini editors are junk and do more damage than they fix, so, based on those observationschecking your .ini files, disabling and reenabling mods is the prudent troubleshooting method to be used to troubleshoot CTD problems. If, and I do state this, if nothing else works, deleting all your mods, cleaning the /DATA/ directory out and then making a copy before reloading your modsis the last resort. If you think this is too much work for players, you need to go read more posts in this forum and on the modders pages. The number of times I see "I deleted and reinstalled the game and now everything works" comments are too many to be counted. If youbelieve that it's too much for someone to add and delete mods, or to check .ini files for proper editing, then they probably should not be modding their game. If you can find ONE legitimate mod author who disagrees with this, I'll delete all my post and my account and never show up in these forums again. And yes, I do get defensive when dealing with stupid. As for being an a$$, it's my life's work, so deal with it.

But you're the genius here who knows everything right? Having people reinstall everything is overkill a lot of times. So that was the uninformed part. Incorrect load order will cause conflicts which can cause ctds. Deleting the .swf files fixed a lot of peoples game after 1.4 and it was much simpler that reinstalling everything. Regardless of all this you're a complete jerk, with a massive self esteem problem, so its obviously a waste of time trying to have any kind of reasonable discussion with you.
