[Mod] How much damage should a flying car do?

After several serious mods I took on something a little more fun.

I've finished Car Launcher and will release it in the next few days, but I'd like to get some opinions if possible on the damage a flying car would do.

For reference, vanilla damage values for:
Mini Nuke (Fat Man) - 450
Vanilla Car Explosion - 200
MIRV - 450 * 6 projectiles = 2700

The damage value for the vanilla car explosion is pretty low - Bethesda probably didn't want too many deaths happening due to accidentally exploding cars.

I have the damage of a car currently set at 800, which is about 1.78x that of the Mini Nuke fired from a Fat Man. So shooting a nuclear-powered flying car at your enemies would do more damage than a mini nuke alone (and cause a correspondingly larger and more satisfying explosion), and of course it's still less than the Experimental MIRV which does a whopping 2700 from shooting six Mini Nukes at a time.

Any opinion on the damage output? I'd prefer to get a good value now rather than decide to change it after user feedback after release.

The speed-shooting is because I have tgm turned on, cars are meant to be fired from a Fat Man or thrown like a Behemoth with the grenade key. But players can attach the Car receiver to a SMG if they really want to.

HAHAHAHAHAHA....thats awesome. My only suggestion might be to give a somewhat high chance of the Bloody Mess perk cause explosion or not being hit by a flying vehicle is physically brutal even if it doesn't explode on impact. Looks like a fun mod to be working on.

Well, nuclear explosions are *ahem* .. really f***ing deadly, and that is partially why we do not have nuclear powered stuff in the public really, and not forgetting the fact that... its a car.. so, I would say make the explosion radius small, like a uuuuuh, frag grenade? But make the force, damage, and such all very high, for science purposes.

 

That is what I did with my mod including molotovs at least and it works quite well, damage over time, small radius, long burn periods, and the stagger is quite nice when of course realistically, everyone that takes a flaming ball of glass and heat and death to their face will most likely stagger :), you could try that with the car?
