Deleted3507349User
I get lots of characters also, and every single one of them plays differently in some way.
RaffTheSweetling
Is it easy to do? - Yes it can be easy, incredibly so - with the mod managers, and it can be difficult, and require you to do lots of googling and searching to come up with solutions constantly, and fixes and workarounds. So it's a challenge, but satisfying, and absolutely rewarding. Is it safe? Yes it is safe, and no it is not safe. You can fairly-easily enough do something and find yourself with a broken game set-up. Usually lacking the know-how and the info to fix it requires a complete game reinstall. Generally these are learning-curve related, meaning you will find yourself making fewer mistakes later with practice and experience. (eg: don't go nuts and install 50 mods in one hit or you might find yourself having to manually check all 50 if one of them is causing trouble - install in sets of 1-3 new mods at a time I reckon). It helps to read descriptions and to know what to look for and what information is key. Check conflicts and know your load-order - know what you have that will conflict with other mods. For instance I am slowly removing all traces of Settlement Supplies Expanded - Safe, in an effort to prepare my game for a switch to Homemaker instead. No hurry, but being careful inside the game and outside the game is always important. Careful modding is the way to go and you'll be thankful later when your save still works perfectly with 100 mods after nearly 500 hours. ;)
bben46
all I'm looking to do is install one or 2 armour mods and a couple of texture mods for fallout 4 so hopefully it won't be to complexYeah that's what they all say, then end up with several hundred. Modding is addictive once you start, you can't stop.
TheOriginalEvilD
It's even worse once you start using NMM. I start out and have played FO3/Oblivion/Skyrim all installing my mods manually, and it gets tiring. Now you just click the check mark and you're installed. That makes using mods WAY more addicting. Klipperken
Back in the manual days mI had fun, in a different way.It was more time consuming, you needed to use your brain more, and sometimes try to make things work together that not really should work together. I found that to be more satisfying in some ways.
Deleted26180174User
Use the nexus mod manager, I got over 50 mods through that thing and it's so well sorted and easy to use, much safer than adding the files yourself, as the manager makes a virtual install of the game so the mod files are always separate from your actual game files, making it much easier to enable/disable and install/uninstall at any time. Doing so will off course affect your game, but not to the point of breaking it, like manual installs have a better chance of doing. The load order would matter a lot if you're gone have many mods, but sorting that one is pretty self-explanatory, don't have plugins for a mod load after the mod that needs them etc, if you use the manger, it would give you warnings if this is the case  Edited March 9, 2016 by Guest

Manually installing should also be just as safe as installing via a manager as the contents are usually just extracted and dropped into the exact same location. This is my experience anyway.
