This is a bit of a complaint, as well as a request/suggestion. I play Oblivion on PC for the mods, as does everyone else, I'm sure. However, one of my biggest frustrations with mods is the immense number of female character-oriented files, especially how they dominate the front page's "Hot files"

Not everyone wants to see these. While I fully understand and accept that there are mods of this nature, it becomes completely irritating to see the front page filled with nothing but these files, especially while files of a less-cosmetic nature are being put out. I can only assume that other modders are frustrated as well when their new mod fails to make it to the front page because of yet another anime character uniform remake, or a release of an even more realistic bouncing breast simulator.

What I am suggesting is making use of the newly added tag system to create an optional filter that removes these cosmetic mods from the "Hot files" lineup. This way, players can choose to ignore them if they so wish.

I have to admit, I too get sick and tired of seeing all these types of mods dominating the Hot Files section on the front page. It would be great if you could filter through it, such as choosing Weapons, Armor, Houses, etc. As you said, a lot of good mods get put out because of a lot of female oriented content.

Ugh. There was just a topic on the matter. I'll just restate what I said there.

If you don't like the mods, sorry. The Nexus isn't going to censor everything for your convenience. The adult mods are already omitted from the Hot Files page, and I should think that's be enough. People endorse what they like; people like those sorts of mods; mods that get endorsements are put on the Hot Files section.

Wow, really? The Hot Files works off of recent endorsements. If that's what's getting endorsed, then that's what's getting endorsed. Can't be bothered to look at it? Make this your bookmark.

It's not like the Nexus is going to start controlling endorsement distribution for the sake of the Hot Files.

Have a kudo, ub3rman. Somehow I haven't given you one yet.

I'm sorry, I did not notice that there was another thread already on this topic. I looked before posting, but didn't see anything. If you could link it to me, I'd appreciate that.

Also, I am not requesting that these mods be censored. I am requesting an optional filtering of them from the front page. I understand that endorsements put these files up there. I support that. However, for the same reason TESNexus omits adult mods, I would like the option of personally omitting these mods from my own view. Again, an optional filter. It is not something that directly effects anyone else but the person enabling the option.

As stated above, I understand how the system works. I've been on TESNexus for two years, watching it change. And I am not requesting censorship or moderation of these files, simply the ability to filter out certain tags from the front page's Hot files. I rely on them for new, interesting, and well endorsed files, but when all that's shown up there for the past few months is, well, hot elf chicks in metal bikinis or military uniforms, it can get on your nerves. Especially when you realize that they're covering up files like Idle Dialogues, or Mushroom Manor.

Again, because I feel it needs clarified, I am not asking for censorship. I'm requesting the option to filter out some of these female cosmetic mods. They are irrelevant to my enjoyment of Oblivion, and are numerous to the point of making it difficult for me to find or be notified of other more impressive mods. I have nothing against these kind of mods, and I understand why they are on the front page as Hot files. It is because I understand how it works that I am requesting a change.

If you start filtering then they won't be the "Hot Files" any more, why not just keep an eye on the latest files instead? Checking the latest files also increases the chance of coming across one of those underrated gems many people miss.

I have been. However, I'm not perfect. There are underrated gems, and then there are other files that I might pass three-to-four times before deciding to try them. Endorsements exist for a good reason, and that's to give mods recognition. But I can't easily recognize a mod if there's 6-7 "Bob's hot babes -- High Elf edition" mods piled on top of them.

Endorsements only tell you that other people like them, anyway endorsements can't be that good as a guide, after all they put "Bob's hot babes -- High Elf edition" up the top.

And that's why I'm requesting a way to filter them.
