RPG Elements in Single Player Games

Hey guys

Ok, i asked on the steam forums this similiar question and got the answer that dragon age 2 is the best place to start with this sort of gameplay but im after something specific so i thought id check if any mods have been invented

ive yet to try dragon age 2, im saving the money to buy it, i just wanted to check first before i spend the money

ok basically, i love games like Divinity 2 , Oblivion, etc, and with a phew mods there even better to play. But there extremely lonely. now i know theres games like wow etc, but what if you dont have the money for it, or even with free ones, you dont have a good internet connection

So sometimes i have to resort to single player games, now dont get me wrong, these games are AMAZING, i love them, u have the levels, classes, dungeons, storys

But what id love to see is a single player smart AI system and party system. and maybe even custom dungeon's, what id love to see in these games like oblivion, skyrim, dragon age 2, is the addition, or a way to do dungeons like on the internet with games like wow

20 man raids, 40 man raids, needing of different classes, like healers, warlocks, big bosses, long drawn out intense fights

All this played by the single person and AI. also guilds and partys, for example, the ability to make a guild/group that npc's join around the world, or a "clan". and partying, were you can walk up to an npc of your level with good armor and go "want to join my party?"

some sort of AI interaction that makes it so you dont feel like an empty desert when your playing these games, yes npc's move, maybe have a small conversation. but your always fighting alone ( accept for oblivions companion mod, and the party system in dragon age 2/controlling different characters at once appearently )

but ofcourse i dont want to have to control 20 characters during an intense fast pace boss battle lol. the AI would be able to handle it by themselves depending on gear/party class setup

i understand all this saying it, it seems impossable, but with todays technology and game engines, it doesnt seem so far fetched

So im wondering if theres anything out there heading in this direction. or a mod been developed

If i understood you right, you want a game where NPC interaction doesn't feel empty, but like they're real characters, with a brain, and that in an open world RPG with parties.

If you want something with a lot of parties, and every one going their own way, just like yours, try Mount & Blade: Warband.

It's a great game where you can command your own army, and work for other factions, and even create your own.

Besides this one, I cannot remember any game that is similar to your description.

On the topic of Dragon Age 2, the combat system is not like in Oblivion/ Divinity 2. It is more like in WOW, where you click on an enemy and choose a attack.

DA2 is still like Origins but has some WoW stuff incoperated (to which I like but it needs work). It's not like Oblivion or single player RPGs because you need to take care of a group. If you want to do it solo, then try The Witcher, Mass Effect (while still has a group, you can play it solo), Deus Ex, Risen, Gothic etc. Most don't have the freedom of Oblivion (except for Risen and Gothic) but you can move around freely, without impeding on your desire for movement. Also you can't jump or swim in DA2, TW2, ME and maybe Deus Ex.

Dues Ex looks great but i just cant get into the whole futuristic scene like with fallout 3 and dues ex, and guns, its just so hard to get that RP feel and feel the storys and characters

i just much prefer the whole fantasy of elves, old age worlds, bows and arrows and epic storys. only thing that dissapoints me is the lonely side of it, to cover that. i usually play Rift, but its not missing "real people" that makes it lonely, its that ur just 1 character. i like to have multiple characters, i adored FF12

ive tried dragon age and i LOVE it, the wow like gameplay and having characters you can immerse with in the story and use at anytime is excellent. great game

thought i must say im dissapointed with DA2, no race selection, no companion control. it really is a dissapointement tbh

P.S ill give risen a try, but it looks like every other game were ur restricted heavily to one type of character, and theres no companions or partying

id love to see a 20 man dungeon mod for Dragon age xD that would be epic lol
