Face Customization

I'm a portrait artist in meat space, and I think the face creator for FO4 is one of the most versatile I've ever seen in a game.

If you're having trouble getting the results you want, or figuring out how to get something interesting, I suggest using a reference like said "realistic" face from the provided example and look at it while you are working with your face. You'd be surprised what you'll notice when there's something to compare it to...

The biggest issue as mentioned earlier is the mouth, no matter how much I play with it the shape of the lips is pretty limited. I'll give it another go eventually, I just found it really difficult to produce results how I wanted without ending up with a cartoonish look.

Just one example... I spent like an hour tabbing back and forth between various face close-ups of Eva Mendes and couldn't get even remotely close. The issue again was the mouth, if that's off it literally 'breaks' the entire look.

What bad with a cartoonish look?

I get if you hate it, but if the cam is on an npc, and your face is the same style and it not that different in terms of style, I don't see why it bad.

This may give you an idea what is can do. http://kotaku.com/the-best-character-recreations-in-fallout-4-1742087916
