Can't buil;d shops; are there any work-arounds?

Console Command Question:
Does anyone know if there's a code to build a shop?
I suspect that because my mods have too many items in total, shops are not appearing - Settlement Keywords mention it can happen but I don't know how to be sure that's the cause.

i can't build stores, so i was wondering if i could add them through the console?

I tried disabling homemaker (and, yes, checking the plugin list for orphans) but that causes CTDS, and i don't really want to delete my mods and start a new game, which long term might be necessary.

I checked the SK structure and yes I am looking in the right place.

I had a look at http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands but it doesn't seem to be listed.

Oh great, i can't fix the typo in the heading. This has not been my day.

Okay, need a little more information....

First and most obvious question; Did you check your load order and adjust as recommended by the mod authors?

Second, have you installed, or uninstalled any mods lately? Mods will sometimes overwrite existing mod files and when you uninstall, the original mod files will not be replaced. This is a common cause of CTD in the workshop menu.

Third, are all of your mods up-to-date and using the correct patch for Settlement Keywords?

Try this little troubleshooting flow chart....

1) If you launch your saved game, with ALL of your mods disabled, does the STORE menu show up in the Workshop build main menu?

If yes, next. If no, reinstall.

DO NOT SAVE. Exit the game.

2) Enable Settlement Keywords. Check if the STORE menu is present under the RESOURCES menu.

If yes, next. If no, reinstall Settlement Keywords and repeat this step. If no again, make sure there are no other mods enabled. Redownload SK reinstall. if no a third time. reinstall the game.

DO NOT SAVE. Exit the game.

3) Enable Homemaker and its patches for SK. Again check if the STORE menu is present in the RESOURCES menu.

If yes, continue to re-enable your mods one at a time. If no, reinstall Homemaker.

DO NOT SAVE. Exit the game.

Repeat this step until the problem occurs.

4) Once you have identified the offending mod(s), leave it(them) disabled and continue to re-enable your mods one at a time.

If the problem appears again, then yes, it may be a keyword issue and you'll need to remove some mods or consider compiling several mods into a single mod (all SK patches into a single master patch for example. Not for the faint of heart) If the problem does not reoccur, next.

DO NOT SAVE. Exit the game.

5) If you finish enabling all your mods, and only one is causing the problem, try reinstalling that mod, and/or changing the load order until the problem goes away.

If there are multiple mods causing issues, take a hard look at load order.

Try disabling other mods that use keywords, re-enabling the 'offending' mods and see if the problem persists. This is another way of checking for a keyword problem. Even one keyword over the limit can cause strange issues within the game.

Good luck.

PS: Think about providing a load order list in future posts. It helps in identifying problems.

If you are comfortable enough with trying FO4Edit, you can delete the entire keyword section in Homemaker.esm, which should free up a bunch of keywords.

Update: Looks like it is definitely Homemaker/Settlement Keywords despite what i was told in the HM forum. I've been struggling with this for ages, and it looks like a known issue at the SK forum at least.

I'm guessing the mod manager for HM/SK isn't looking into it or something, but at least I know there's nothing further I can do to fix this.I can't realistically patch that to make it work, it's just beyond me.

Thanks for your help guys. Maybe one day I won't be so sick, and I can learn FO4Edit and fix this myself.

FO4Edit looks extremely complicated, especially for someone like me with chronic illness, and everything in the documentation indicates it's likely to break an existing game. Besides, wouldn't the homemaker patch for SK do that anyway?

Homemaker's SK patch did not work for me, but it is actually much easier than you think.

  1. Extract the latest FO4Edit into your FO4 directory
  2. Run the program, right click anywhere in the list that pops up and select none. Then tick the check boxes next to Fallout4.esm and Homemaker.esm
  3. When the plugins are finished loading you should see 3 directories in the left pane (Fallout4.esm, Fallout4.exe, and Homemaker.esm)
  4. Click on the plus sign next to Homemaker, then find the directory labeled Keyword and click on the plus sign next to it to expand it.
  5. Left click on any entry in that section, then hit Ctrl+A on your keyboard to select all.
  6. Press delete on your keyboard and wait for the timer. Select yes I'm sure, then yes again.
  7. Once it is done deleting the keyword entries press Ctrl+s to save your edited plugin.

For me that was all it took.

14th March 2016 Fallout 4 mod list

I gave that a go, I see some changes (not sure if i can now see new items) but the shops are still absent.Still getting structure as in this video https://youtu.be/Z4CSo7PGQas

I don't know where the flowers/planters is coming from - i wonder if that's overwriting the SK structure somehow?

Unfortunately I am not where I can check thoroughly, but I think your load order could use a little work. The link below was very helpful to me.
