ddavies10693
So I'm still pretty hyped about the new DLC for The Wticher 3, but now that Fallout 4 (TW3's biggest competition) will be releasing DLC starting in March and every following month for a while, people will have to make a choice, especially if their funds are limited, like the majority of gamers. TW3 came out almost a year ago now, and we haven't seen any new DLC for it at all since October. Did they miss their shot, or will you still buy it? Wolfmod
This is definitely an opinion thread where no response could be wrong. A good game is a good game and I will buy any expansions or DLC for a good game regardless of when it is released. I bought "Dragon Age Inquisition" thinking it was a good game. It was for a brief time but the developer decision to base it on the characters and events of Dragon Age 2, the worst of the Dragon Age franchise, plus other annoying features of the game built up to end my relationship with that company and to view any future releases with skepticism. I played Fallout 4 and while it initially seemed great, none of its surplus of features were fully implemented with severe limits imposed on whatever the player did and I soon identified this game as a cash grab. The problem is that there just aren't enough games of this genre for players to be that choosy. When DLC for a good game like The Witcher 3 comes out we will buy it regardless of what else is out there.
ddavies10693
Well the biggest issue in this case, in my opinion, is that they've lost most of the "hype" for this game. Which probably peaked a few months when it was winning most of their GOTY awards (well deserved).
hedop
Well tbh what were they supposed to do? Have both DLC ready to go? They developed them and tbh it's still a pretty striking success to develope a 30+ hours DLC in under a year. Furthermore I do not think Fallout 4 is a good game number 1, I do not think it is an RPG number 2. It's shoddily developed, has the souls of the franchise and the soul of what is nowadays considered an RPG (decision making, dialogue, character building etc.) ripped out, has been massively overpriced (60 bucks) and has a massively overpriced Season Pass (49.99) which so far has only released absolute rubbish. So no, I don't think they lost hype or anything since most people are still playing and replaying the game because to finish it is a massive undertaking.
