Good (looking) Female Oblivion Character

Hey,

I'm trying to make a good-looking female Oblivion character. But to make it really though on me, I'm also trying to make her powerful, without using those "invincible" mods.

1) For the body I've come up with the HG EyeCandy Body. It states in the description:

"Improved body meshes by RAIAR (Normal, Fighter & GUTS) and MadCat221 (EBE). It also includes Exnem's EyeCandy Body textures, so it's a standalone mod now."

So this makes it compatible with most armors I found. It's the most recommended body mod, so this should be a good idea, I guessed. (But I opened this topic for advice).

2) Now, the face! ...Absolutely no idea.... I'm totally incapable of creating a beautiful face using Character Creation at the beginning of the campaign. So if someone has an idea or found a mod, I woud love to hear it. Please post some information if neccesary about the mod or trick, because I'm somewhat new at modding. See 4) !

Also, what about the hair? I could use a wig, but I'm not sure if I would still be able to equip a helmet (so I'm actually in search of an unequipable hair, preferably long brown hair)... So help on that would also be appreciated.

3) General looks. I want her to look human, so I should choose an Imperial, right?

4) Strength. And last: what attributes, birthsign, skills, etc shoul I choose to make her powerful? NOTE: She should become a warrior. Armor and weapon mods aren't neccesary, because I've already found some I like. I found this mod, it adds the Blood Elves race, but their strenght relies on magic, as stated in the description: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38459, but maybe I should make a magic character, because this race includes a perfect face, long hair of which you can change the color and a perfect body (if you have the HGEC Body Replacer, which I have!). Mmmmmm..... Well, I'd really like to hear you opinions.

A walk animation is not neccesary.

I love to hear what you've come up with!

EDIT: I just found a race that covers almost everything, the face and body, hair, even the attributes!:

Strength: 50

Intelligence: 40

Willpower: 35

Agility: 35

Speed: 40

Endurance: 50

Luck: 40

Personality: 50

Skill bonus:

+ 10 Blade

+ 10 Block

+ 5 Speechcraft

+ 5 Heavy Armor

There's a few mods that can help make your job easier. Some facial textures (and install this one afterward) can help make your character (and all others in Oblivion) look more organic. No more blocky weird discolorations like jpeg artifacts on peoples' faces.

Before you actually start making the character, you'll also want to go to a place with better and more natural lighting usually just outside the sewers (if you happen to exit during the daytime). If it's nighttime when you leave, you can go into town, wait inside until morning (or just cheat and use "set gamehour to 10" or something, but that may cause some bugs with some AI schedules). When the sun rises, go edit your character's face again using the console command "showracemenu". It's easier to do it with better lighting. I've wasted so much time trying to get my character to look good in that starting prison, only to find that the colors are messed up when I go outside.

Now, when you're outside and you use the showracemenu command, don't click "Done", or you might get some weird bugs. Actually the only real known bug from this is that it resets your experience, though I've had it freeze and CTD on me a few times from this already. Instead of clicking "Done", pres "Esc" to bring up the menu, and use the console to save by typing "save <filename>". You can use any filename. If you're actually done with editing your face, reload the save via the menu without clicking Done.

As for "human", Imperial and Breton are the most neutral-looking human-like races. Redguards tend to look messed up (they use the same texture as Imperial by default), and are difficult to prettify, though it is possible. Imperial is generally a better choice since you want to be a warrior, but Breton isn't a bad warrior at all (with vanilla racial features), despite the supposed idea that Bretons are magic-users. The reason is Bretons get resist magic by default, and only takes a few more enchanted equipment to get 100% magic resistance. I had a pure melee fighting Breton character before, and it was insanely fun. You can charge into a roomful of Imps and pretty much shrug off their damage. Imperials just tend to do be better tanks for regular damage. But that's still up to you. Personally Breton is my favorite vanilla race, followed by Argonian.

Next, for your build, that's really up to you. It depends on your play style. There's no "perfect" character, nor is there a "best build". You can break stereotypes and still come out a winner. It may be somewhat harder to begin with some builds, but as you get used to your own strengths and weaknesses, everything kinda levels out later on. Redguard mages, Altmer barbarians, Orc thieves (o_O), etc. It's all possible. The game isn't restrictive like that, which is a good thing. A lot of players even end up changing their play style during the course of gameplay, because they find it suits them better. I used to be a pure mage for my first character, then I tried a stealth archer, then a pure warrior and never looked back. Charging into a room with sword and shield was just way too fun for me.

Well, thanks a lot! That really helped me, I'm trying exactly what you decribed right now and it's looking rather good! I've given the Breton race a chance and no regrets so far... I've searched for this kind of advice all over Oblivion Forums, but this one was, without doubt, the best and exactly what I was looking for.

But I'm also giving the Synx race a try, because the attributes looked good and so does the face and body. But I'm definitely creating her in broad daylight, that was a real good tip. I've had that same problem before with my Dark Elf, on Xbox 360, so I couldn't change the appearance after leaving the sewers. I just always wore a Daedric Helmet, because that would cover the entire face. ;D

Again, thanks.

lol D: One downside though is now you may never wear a helmet so you don't cover up a pretty face! I know I don't wear helmets anymore lol. I'm suffering the lacking defense, but hey, at least I look good!

But I'm glad I was able to help.
