Should I be banned from chat?

I was a bad boy, I had four too many drinks + at that point, (this was over a month ago). Should any member be banned from the chat because of a popularity contest? Since this was the debate section, I figured I'd ask my peers on their thoughts on the matter.

A three part question- 1- Should anyone who pays get favoritism?

2 - Is it ok for those who pay to get ignored?

3- Knowing that I was in the wrong and I am banned from chat, would you renew you support to the nexus after being ignored because some chat mods disliked you? (in the process of trying to figure out what is up, general question)

In short, If you were banned from chat, would you renew your subscription knowing you couldn't chat?

If chat is the only reason you subscribed-then no. Other than that, I seriously doubt anyone is going to touch this with a ten foot pole. Depending on why you were banned (being drunk in and of itself is not a reason), you might try petitioning the moderator to lift the ban. They didn't ban you from using nexus, so given enough time, your offence *may* be forgivable. It may require a genuine display of remorse on your part, though.

To have a premium account doesn't prevent anywody to be banned, and doesn't give the right to not follow the rules.

if you were banned from the chat, the best way is to contact staff member.

1- Should anyone who pays get favoritism?

Never.

2 - Is it ok for those who pay to get ignored?

Yes, if you got the moderators and users annoyed enough then you deserve to be ignored. Every ban, whether it's a chatban or a regular one, is done on a case by case basis and if you believe it was wrong you should contact them personally as given by the posters above.

3 - Renew support after chat ban?

The premium features don't extend a single bit to the chat section, so the reasons you used to get premium are invalid for that section. You can't buy any credit with the mods by having a subscription. Other than that, the chat isn't a major part of the site and not really part of its core either. If I'd still like to enjoy the premium features at that moment, I'll definitely do. You support this site by paying subscription, but with the little spare money I have I'm glad you get something back for it. (more message-space/no ads ftw!)

I was told by one moderator,(think the only mod I respect), a month ago I had a week ban, upon nearing the ban ending he told me upon my request regarding my status to contact the mod who banned my regard a one week chat ban, that admin blocked me and can't even plead my case. I decided with all of the rules and chat stuff aside, I should ask you people. What you would do if you were me?

A- Ignore chat- it's dumb

B- Continue despite flawed staff, paying for a service to dodge ads.

You just don't know when to quit do you? This is a prime example of how truly awful your judgement is.

It is a well-known fact that taking your beef public on these forums is a first-rate way to get banned completely from this entire family of sites. In fact, the moment I saw this thread, I was within the scope of my authority to put you out the door without any further consideration.

Aside from the fact that I'm obviously one of the rest of the mods you don't "respect" what you should have done was written a note and sent it to all the staff. I'm surprised and highly doubt a moderator has you blocked, but unbanning cannot be done by any chat moderator, it has to be done by site staff, anyone with a red or green name. And those are the people you should have sent your message to.

It's clear to me that you will be highly pressed to stop being such a dope, so I'm thinking to myself right now, "is this guy worth all the trouble?"

The debate board is not the place to discuss moderator decisions, if you think you've been treated unfairly you should contact the mod in question, if you can't get a response from him/her then you should contact Dark0ne. Also stay off the internet when you've been drinking, it rarely ends well as my Twitter account proves.

I have found reasoning to your words, cheers. At the same time, have you read the debate forums lately haha ? =) I provided a black and white question, would you or would you not continue supporting the nexus if you were me.(?) The decision was made and I was limited to bothering the dark one(and I have not), I figured I'd make it a discussion to give a break to aliens and foreign policy what if scenarios.

The chat really isn't my sort of thing so I can't comment on that, as for what to do? only you can decide that. I know I wouldn't want to go back to capped download speeds and ads.

Wait, all this over a one week ban, that was a month ago? It should have been lifted by now, just don't do what ever it is you did again. The previous poster was right that starting a debate about it isn't helpful, that being said...it sounds like a by-gone.
